Going to work today I somehow snapped the throttle cable on my TaoTao 150cc EVO (2013), I was barely doing 25mph at the time, so it wasn't like I was trying to crank it wide open for hours... my scoots only got 3106km on it so I am like...huh ?
After a lot of work I finally managed to get the broken cable out (pain in the arse) it looked like it was a clean cut, but it was in the housing so I know nothing funny happened.
My problem is the local scooter shop here in Charlotte only had a 80" and a 90" cable, and they told me those won't work ... I measured the housing (it has angles on both ends) and its about 78" and I know both sides have a couple of inches sticking out.. So what I need to know is how long is it suppose to be ? Do I have to have the exact one ? or can I use an 80" one ? I've got some play in the way it routes thru the body, not much but a little.
So far at the online scooter stores I've found, they say different things, the closest I've found to being longer than an 80" is a 83.4" (at motorpartsmax.com) #231-999016.
Is this the right one?
I'd sure appreciate some help, cause she's my only wheels...

It doesn't matter as long as it's not too short. You can loop it around and come back to the engine and it will work fine. Just make sure it's the same attachment system which is usually the little barrels. If it's too short you're up the creek, just go with the one you're sure will reach.

thanks for taking the time to answer, they only had an 80" one and a 90" and they wanted $25 for it, the 90" one is a bit long, but I swear I've got enuf room, and personally think the 80" one would work because mine did have a wide loop under the seat. I've just trying to find the right one. Charlotte Scooter Shop sells TaoTao's but doesn't carry the cables to fit them...he said he could order one...hell I can order one !! cheaper to..,
I really didn't think it would be so hard to find the exact one though ??
I need it ASAP, but I don't want to waste my money buying the wrong part...
I'm guess unless I learn more tonight I guess tomorrow I'll call a couple more places and if no luck, I saw a guy on Ebay that has a store that sells nothing but scooter parts and he has an 83" cable for $14.99 with free shipping and he only lives about 60 miles a way.
I do appreciate the reply and when I find out what works I will post it on here so others will know.

Really ? I put the 80" one the shop up next to mine and the housing was about 3" shorter.
Have you replaced one on a TaoTao EVO 150cc ? Personally I think it will work because mine had a big wide cure going on to make it to my carb and I think there was plenty of room to reduce the length by and inch or 2.

Cyborg with a Chinese GY6!!?? Ah HA HA HA HAAAAAA! If Ducati made a scooter he'd have one. Hmmmmm...he does know his stuff though....and scooters too. I'd get the 83 for 15 bucks, then you have a little extra to play with.....like Cyborg! Ah, I crack myself up. Anyway, when you start bending the cable back around to attach to the carb you quickly lose at the bend the little bit of extra you have. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to stretch a cable.....as Cyborg knows!! I've used up my daily allotment of innuendo...dang. But what I said was true, I've been there, get the 83.

Lets see it schwanstuper.
OK, I Googled it.....so you're right....big deal Mr. Due-snotty:
Let's get back to the kid's problem.....sometimes if you do mods you'll want that extra to use a different routing. Also, if you do have extra and it's in your way you can take off the front plastic and pull it up some, that will take up the slack at the carb.
