Your running with 8gram rollers on a 150cc!!! WOW!! 8 grams are used on 50ccs are you sure your have a 150cc scooter? Reason I ask is with 8 grams on a 150cc YOUR rpms have to be really high. Normally on a 150cc 11-12 gram rollers work really good and your rpms are in the 7K+ range at wide open throttle. Look on the motor case by the sidestand and the motor type will be itched on the case.

Install a stronger mainspring in the clutch. It will hold you in lower gears longer and improve hill climbing ability.

I First would question the 8 gram weights on a 150cc motor! with 8 gram the belt would be riding low for a longer period of time and hill climbing would not be a problem. His rpms should be out of sight going up a hill with 8 gram weights keeping the power up.

Ah, yea I would say the weights are on the heavier side. But let me ask this do you have a tach on the scoot, and if so what are your rpms at wide open throttle. What you want is to keep the rpms up during hill climbing apparently they are not and is why your 30mph up the hill is showing up. Sure try the 10gram weights if you have them thaey may be to light but you can try them and see if it keeps the rpms up going up a hill and only loose MPH not to many rpms. Alleyoop

Unfortunately that is a million dollar question. There are no set stock weights that the scoot come with. Some will come with 14gram 13 gram 17gram etc.. It seems they put in whatever they have the most of at the time they setup the CVT. So the only thing you can do is take the variator off and weigh one of the weights and see what is in there. Which by the way is very important to know so that you know which way to go, lighter or heavier and how much lighter and or how much heavier in grams.
Now if you do not have a scale that weighs in grams you can take 1 weight to your post office and ask them to please weigh it. Alleyoop

Thanks for the info, the post office idea sounds like a good alternative (since I don't deal drugs and have a scale that weights in grams) ha ha. scoot, Alleyoop, Bashan

WalMart has them for those on a diet to weight each teeny tiny gram. I used to weight mine in quarter barrels.

It is true, did you not find it in the cooking section with other measuring items? There are none in the business supplies, envelops etc., section in my local stores. I needed one to weight my model railroad cars to bring them to the most efficient weight.
