I removed the PAAR system from my 2014 Taotao ATM50-A. My question is should I remove the PCV hose from my air box snorkel and attach it to a breather filter of sorts or leave it attached to the air box? Why or why not and how does it affect the carb and general overall engine?

The crank case vent has oil in it , better to get sucked back into the intake . If you were to go to a pod filter I would say then use a filter .

The PAIR system doesn't have a connection to the airbox. It simply injects fresh air into the exhaust port to help burn off unspent fuel. This is how you remove it:
The vapor recovery system does have a connection to the airbox to dump gas vapors. This is how it works:
This is how you get rid of it:
Make sure you plug the airbox, it'll create a vacuum problem

So then what's the point of pumping oil out of the PCV to the intake? To me that seems like it would cause problems having oil and hot air running through the carb.

That is simply the crankcase breather. When they hook it to the airbox it is a pollution device. It's designed to suck the vapors off of the crankcase and burn them up in the engine. I agree, it makes for a dirty intake. Plug the airbox inlet from the breather and tie the vent off high so that oil doesn't get all over the place. Put a filter in the hose to keep dirt out.
