I rode out in the rain for a couple days and noticed my front brake light was working but a few days later it worked only when I pressed down hard on it and a couple of minutes ago it worked but now it has stopped completely. The back drum brake works and I inspected the two plug ins for the front brake and they were wet if that helps. Here's some pictures of my wires in the back. 1drv.ms/1wL38RK

Acetone absorbs water and doesnt mess with most plastics in these situations but test it first to see,,,,don't want you melting anything

I uh tried the wd 40 and nothing happen. Just going to replace the brake light plug 5 $ should be an easy fix. The plastic is however very, very delicate.

If my brake light is not working on my scooter when I press the lever will a saftey thing activate when trying to start it? I have not replaced my brake electrical switch yet. I try and start my bike everything activates when I put the key into the ignition hit the back drum brake on the left and the start button and everything goes dead. The clock goes out and the fuel guage goes all the way to the bottom and won't even let my brake lights work or blinkers. any ideas? solenoid? and or brake switch?

Okay I wait like 1 hour and the back brake light works again and tries to start but just dies out and does not allow anything to work, I'll keep you posted when I get my new solenoid.

The only thing the safety lockout does is not send juice to the solenoid to engage the battery unless a brake is pulled. If everything goes dead you have a short. When everything dries out it may start working again. If you want to ride in the rain you'll have to go through the bike and secure all of the connectors and ground wires.

We'll what I meant was I replaced the brake light for 5$ and then it worked and then stopped and then worked, idk whats going on but everything is okay but the starter right now. The starter sounds a little weak as of right now and is going to be replaced for 23$. Sorry for the late reply. I replaced the solenoid with a new one and the starter still makes the weird sound so hopefully its a quick fix. Btw I had a couple of beers before this post.

Good for you, a brewski always helps! Check your main ground wire, it runs to a frame connector in front of the engine and the black battery cable probably hooks on there too.
