On every page of this forum a hangup occurs with a script that won't finish. The script is: ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.2/jquery.min.js:4The page hangs up until I stop the script after about 1 minute of hangup. Is anyone else having this problem? I am using Mozilla Firefox and NoScript. I set NoScript to allow all scripts to no avail. BillG

Hmmmmmm....Google says that's not on their server. I'm not having it come up. What browser are you using? I would say it's a Google ad script but if you're signed in you shouldn't be getting them. Let me see what JR says.

I don't get that. I'm on Firefox. Get rid of NoScript and try again.

Thanks all. I reset a NoScript setting and all is OK. I gotta read up on NoScript. It's complicated.

Thanks all. I reset a NoScript setting and all is OK. I gotta read up on NoScript. It's complicated. Why do you use it at all?
NoScript blocks JavaScript, Java, Flash, Silverlight, and other "active" content by default in Firefox. Users can allow active content to execute on trusted websites, by giving explicit permission, on a temporary or a more permanent basis. If "Temporarily allow" is selected, then scripts are enabled for that site until the browser session is closed.
Because many web browser attacks require scripting, configuring the browser to have scripting disabled by default reduces the chances of exploitation. Blocking plug-in content, as well, helps to mitigate any vulnerabilities in plug-in technologies, such as Java, Flash, Acrobat, and so on. NoScript will replace these blocked elements with a placeholder icon. Clicking on this icon enables the element.
The coding on PB sites is full of javascript and plugins and each time you have trouble on a PB site you will have to temp allow or you can put the sites in as a permanent trusted site. IMO NoScript is overkill.

NoScript is the culprit. I am not given the option to mark the PB site as trusted. Looks like I'll have to look into NoScript further. The advantage of NoScript is that it gives you the option of running scripts when you choose, unlike Firefox. That is, when it is working correctly.

I normally can 'allow all this page' with NoScript, but not on scooterdoc.proboards.com. That's what I mean by not being given the choice. I should have said that to begin with. Today it's back to it's old tricks with a 'script not completing' (the same one as before). I finally just 'allowed scripts globally' and it seems to work this site OK. Apparently the offending script is doing something NoScript needs to allow for. Personally, I'm amazed this stuff works at all.

If you are going to allow everything globally then you have no need for it at all, after all it is a add on and again a useless security measure unless you have no antivirus or firewall protection.

Your problem is simple, you're trying to pick and choose everything that google tells you is "maybe" a problem and again it's over kill. This forum runs on software provided by Proboards and as I told you it's a combination of simple HTML coding along with plugins and javascript. It works well and is not suspicious as google is telling you.
Your choice, either turn it off, find out how to add this and "every" proboards site to your system or not use this forum and others like it. Simple as that. I don't make the software I just do/add the things they allow.
