www.motorcycle-usa.com/265/20738/Motorcycle-Article/Vespa-946-Scooter-Review.aspx In back, a single horizontally-mounted, linkage-equipped shock and spring (adjustable for preload) do a decent job of managing the 346 pounds of elegantly styled bulk.
The 946 is heavy – really heavy
Yes, let's talk about the main flaw of the 946: it's about as slow as a $10,000 vehicle gets, high-end riding mowers excepted. Vespa claims a 57 mph top speed, and I think it actually goes a bit faster, maybe even 60 mph.
All for a measly $10,499, if you're crass enough to ask the price of things
Just think for a paltry $500 more you could have this moped.

The Vespa dealer I went to get parts for my et4 had 2 of them a white and a black one,,,they are still there,,, they do look really nice after all they are Italian ,,, is it worth it? Absolutely not!!! I can get a lightly used almost any motorcycle that can run rings around almost any scooter,,, except Rich's Sym (which is a stellar performer ) I'm running a 350 dualsport right now very mildly hopped up ,, there isn't a scooter that can touch it no matter where they come from ( I'm not talking the low frame motorcycles that BMW and the others are trying to pass off as scooters) ( and 650cc really? a scooter?),,,, all in for the dr? $1800 out the door,,, and still in it's infancy as far as miles so I have a ton more Ridin left in that bike,,, maybe rering at 30,000 maybe,,,, the panache as they say is lost on me ,,, they ( Vespa) has cultivated a mystique and people buy it

I sat quietly and observed at Modern Vespa and I just don't get it. Here's a good example. scooterinthesticks.com/2015/01/vespa-gts-250-fuel-pump/This guy, Steve Williams, is a Vespa fanatic. Yet for all his trumpeting he's had his share of issues. He concludes "With the fuel pump replaced I’m good for another 25,000 miles or so…"
So sorry, not worth the price of admission.

I believe I would sell my soul for one of them scouts. I like scooters but when they cost more than $4-5k that is just insane.
