If one of the two bolts is holding the "T" that the handlebars are attached to there will not be much alignment. Alleyoop

ok, I remember that one after looking at it. It's just a bracket that is welded on to the out side of the steering shaft.

Ok check these two bolts out because the part that holds the bracket for the handle bar is looks like it is on a rotating piece and you can see SLOTS built into the bottom plate so the top plate can rotate left or right.

Nope, those are holding the plastic bolted on to the t plate. I can not see anything holding the t from moving. I'm starting to think it might not move, like it slips into a slot or something.

That blot and nut on top goes through the t and shaft.

Are the bars bent?

Evenin cyborg, No, the bars aren't bent. I checked that out first. But, I did find out that the one nut and bolt at the top of the lock nut and the bottom of the T is the one I needed to loosen. The bars would only turn about 1/2" left and right, maybe 3/4. But that was at the T. At the end of the handle bars it gave me about 1 1/2" movement. I found that out by when I tightened it up, I must of put pressure on the T and it turned more to the right. I went for a ride and MAN my bars were off, worse than before. That helped me track down the nut and bolt that needed to be used. It was all pure luck, but I got them straight now.

Great news that you found how to loosen them and align the handlebars. So the top lock nut and the bottom one at the "T" junction then. Have to keep that in the back of the head in case someone else has the same problem. Or if you can take a pic of the nuts that would help. Alleyoop
