Never mind, I got it. I'm not sure what this part is called, but I reversed the big hoses and it works fine now. Some times I even impress myself.....

Not sure if this means anything, but when I add oil, it takes a long time for the trike to accept it. Almost like it need an air vent.

Morning Boys, I have a 150 gy6. If I try and check the oil right after I shut it down I have oil spurting out when I loosed the oil stick. I have to let it sit for a while before I can remove the dip stick. If I have the dip stick removed and start the motor, it will blow A LOT of oil out as it is running. Is this normal?? If not, what do I check??? I have air/oil coming out of the hose that comes from the valve cover.

rks, those posts are 4 days apart. 1. Afternoon Boys, I still have a problem with it running. I set the valves, got a new carb, new manifold gaskets and adjusted the carb. But if I give it any throttle it dies as you can see. What am I missing? Click HERE to watch. Read more: scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/12959/motor-quit-running#ixzz4G4oBqHtJ2. Copied from the other place... "Afternoon rks. It would be nice if it was that simple. I can give it throttle slowly and it won't die. It's only when I do it fast. I can ride it down the road ok, I just can't rev it up or take off fast. I used a water hose and checked for air leaks, I flooded it! It only stops when the water hits the spark plug. No vac leaks,,,, that I found. " Read more: scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/12959/motor-quit-running#ixzz4G4pMHOsq3. jct842, I used a spray bottle and didn't find any change. I really thought it was/is a vac leak so I went with the hose and flooded it. Still no change. cyborg, I checked the diaphragm of the old new carb and didn't find anything wrong with it. Then I changed the diaphragm out with another one I have, same thing. Then I bought a another new carb, replaced the manifold gaskets and ran a lot of water over the carb looking for air leaks, none. Adjusted the carb about 8 times trying different settings, I am back with the setting I ended up the first time I adjusted it, 2 and 1/8 turns out. New fuel filter and it's pumping good fuel to the carb. sillylittleboy, A while back I bought a new carb and noticed a different's in the sound and how it ran with the new carb compared with the stock one that came with it. New carb and switching to the middle gas made a big diff for the trike. www.ebay.com/itm/351696298763?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITcrwford, My new manifold will be delivered today but I really don't need it. After I replaced the 2 gaskets I have no leaks anywhere near the carb. That I'm sure of. When I flood the motor with water, it only changes idle and stops when the water hits the spark plug. I have also sprayed/flooded under all the side panels looking for vac leaks. I know this problem is something simple that I am over looking. Question,, I went out this morning and it started right up but if I give it throttle, it dies like this. ClickyAfter it ran for 5 minuets at idle, it died and it won't start again. Does that sound like I need a valve adjustment??

I can get it running now and again but can't give it any throttle with out it dying. Now it's hot from running for about 5 minuets and won't start. But I did get the manifold leak fixed.

Ok boys, I don't know where to start. I was on my way into the big city today and I didn't make it. As we were going along the trike motor fell flat on top end. I still had low end power and we got it home. I went looking for air leaks. I put water on the intake manifold and it would stall. I did that 3 times, then it would not start again. I have gas going to the new carb and I have spark to the plug. I think I fixed the intake leak but can't know for sure till I get it running.
Where do I start looking for the problem??
It's a GY6 150cc on a 2009 ice bear cruiser.
************UPDATE************ It started running and ran for about 15 seconds then quit again. But it did start. Kinda sounds like it's running out of gas, KINDA. I tried to give it throttle but it dies. Now it won't start again. I already called it a BUNCH of names, what's next??

When I cleaned my carb, I found all this in the float bowl. I cleaned all the jets, took an air hose to it but it would still stall on me. I was lucky one time and found the sweet spot at about 4 MPH where it would run and got it home.

Evening scooter18, Mine was doing the exact same thing. Now yours could be an air leak like you think, mine was the carb. I just got a new one for the trike for $23 or $28 off ebay and that fixed it.
