Evening rosiemoto, "One is the front end feels loose and is rocking/vibrating back and forth a little when I hit the brakes" 1st. Check this nut to see if it's tight. 2nd. Then make sure this nut and bolt is tight. On this one my handle bars were crooked so I had to replaced it with one that wasn't so thick. This just shows you what is under it all, Don't pay any attention to my babbling. clicky

I gotta admit, we do like that trike, so do a lot of other older people around here. It's a 09, we finally broke 1000 miles 4 days ago. We have 3 days of rain coming (says the weatherman) Guess we'll ride into town and filler up with gas today.

Well, we put 45 miles on it today with no problem. I did what cyborg said and took off a little faster, seems to be it. The prm's don't jump up as we are climbing out of the hollers. That 150 is a trip in town. Taking off from a red light we keep up or even pass other cars and bikes. Just the open roads is when we get passed all the time.
jct842; I have done that with cars and trucks I have had, use the emergency brake and clean the clutch, it has worked for me too.
On a side note: People are always asking about our trike, seems like a lot of people like it. Had one guy ask all kind of questions today at the air park. He was in his 50ies. I told him he could get one for around $3000. After I let him sit on it, him and his son's (in their 20ies) said something to each other, then.. he said to me,,, "I'll give you $4000 cash for it right now" DARN!! I could buy a used Harley with that. But,, I had to say no. Long story short, the trike was a gift to the wife from a friend. I had to tell the Wife that if we bought the trike for a good/cheep price, I would of let it go in a heart beat. But it was a gift from a 93 year old friend of ours. So we rode it home. Besides, I told the wife she would of had to carry all the stuff we had on/in the trike as we hitched hiked home, she understood that part. Right, wrong or indifferent, that was my call.

Mornin cyborg, I'm >thinking< it's the pads that are just starting to glaze. I'm also thinking they are that way because I give it to much throttle on take off, maybe. Once I get moving, even climbing the hollers, it seems ok. So I'm going to take your advice and sand down the pads a little, can't hurt. Question, Is there any thing that will fly off once I remove the big nut holding the bell on? (springs??) I'm using "search" to find a picture of what the clutch and pads look like.

Evenin Boys and Girls, I'm getting ready for a 40 mile run into the big city tomorrow to take my wife in for lunch. I'm checking the trike out. I have noticed that on taking off, The RPM's seem to get a little high on take off (something is slipping), then once I get going, everything seems ok. I can still clime the hollers with the wife on with steady rpm's. It don't seem to slip then, only on take offs and only when I give it a LOT of throttle. I will ease up on the throttle on take offs, but what do y'all think the slipping might be? Belt??

Got back from town and running the better gas, I have to watch the tech all the time. It gets into the 8000 rmp's on the flats with the Wife on the back in a heart beat. I try to keep it in the 7's thinking the motor will last longer. One time, going down into a big holler with the cheap gas, I found I had it in the 9"s. I slowed down real quick. Going up one holler I usually drop down to 23 MPH, today I came up it at 34 MPH. I may try the best gas next time just for the heck of it. PS: Where can I get JET FUEL?

The Wife and I went for a ride into town the other day. On the way I'm thinking "the trike is running good, better then before". I figure it's the new carb I put on. Pretty soon the Wife leans forward and says "the trike is running nice today". I wonder if it was a different/better/bigger carb. I get home and check. Same carb as the last one. What the heck?? Then I remembered,, we switched to the middle gas pump. What a diff. I like this lil trike.

Mornin richardv, To post links you need to copy the address in the address bar, put your cursor on the address and left click it, that will highlight it. Then you right click it and then choose "copy". It's now in the puter's memory. Then go to where you want to paste it and type ( don't use the * key) [url*=, then the ctrl and V key, that will post the link. Then the ] key after the link. Then type the word in you want to show up, then [/*url] to make it all work. DO NOT USE THE *, I had to put them in there so the puter won't think it was the link I wanted to post. [url*=LINK]word[*/url]
