Hey everyone, want to say thanks first off to everyone who posted anything troubleshooting throttle bog downs, how to swap carbs, and anything else in that area. I successfully replaced the factory carb on my taotao roman 150cc scooter and put a straight pipe intake with a cone filter head.
When i got the new carb i figured i'd put a new air intake on it too, ordered them both of amazon (goofit gy6 24mm carb and a newmotoz 42mm cone filter) i thought i would have enough clearance to put the filter straight on the carb but there is a cross bar in the way. i ended up getting a 38mm or 42mm i can't remember (it was the smaller diameter one they had) 12" flex car exhaust pipe from auto zone and a 45 degree flex rubber pipe intended for plumping from lowes, totaling 50$. after getting it all installed i was only getting to about 3/4 throttle before the scooter would stutter, so i had to order a new jet kit (this is after i moved the float needle up to the last notch).
Installed the 120 jet and fired it up, i now can get up to 20-25mph with a flick of the throttle and accelerate through 55 no problem. acceleration slows down a lot near 60mph, but i did get up to 63mph on hilly road. No doubt it could get up to 70mph I just haven't got out on a straight shot road yet. The top speed for this particular moped was said to be 45mph so for 50 bucks i'd say a 20mph increase is great.
not sure if anyone will read this but if you do hope it helps, will gladly help if you have any questions

Right on!!! I'll have to look into what I can do to boost mine (In California , I I think there's much we aren't allowed to modify).
