I used to know how to do this but had to drop it on a couple sites and old age is catching up. I want to post a link to a site but not post the actual link. This seems to frighten some were I'm at lately. How do you just post a word or words instead of an internet address. Not as important but I'd also like to know how to Cut-n-Paste a printed article but most won't let you do so without the entire page, including advertisements, and pictures. Just trying to play there silly/sick game and not let them know were it comes from. Thanks in advance.

Yes my lil' Martian Friend. That is the kind of thing I wish to do but, I haven't used it in many years. I trust the friends here to give an honest, though sometimes jocular, answer. Not so at other establishments, were I wish to use it.

Mornin richardv, To post links you need to copy the address in the address bar, put your cursor on the address and left click it, that will highlight it. Then you right click it and then choose "copy". It's now in the puter's memory. Then go to where you want to paste it and type ( don't use the * key) [url*=, then the ctrl and V key, that will post the link. Then the ] key after the link. Then type the word in you want to show up, then [/*url] to make it all work. DO NOT USE THE *, I had to put them in there so the puter won't think it was the link I wanted to post. [url*=LINK]word[*/url]

hobbles richardv there is a very easy way to do it. In the menu buttons on both the Quick Reply an Normal Reply window you will see this button: Click on that button. When you do so a pop up box will appear. The top line says Text. Hit the X at the right side to remove the word "link" and type in the Text that you want to say/use. The second line will say URL again hit the X at the end of the line to remove the http:// then copy and paste your link in that line. Like this You will find that the menu buttons on the forum offer a lot of ways to do things. JR
