I changed out the stator and pickup this morning. I didn't see anything wrong with the stator or pickup. I also changed out the rotor. Didn't see anything wrong with that either.
Planning on changing out the wires going from the regulator, mini-relay/blocking diode, and CDI to 12 gage. Maybe I'll find a short or burned wire there. Some of the insulation on the wires are real stiff. Is this due to age or maybe overheating of the wires?
I'll wait till I've completed the wire change and received my new r/r from Tony before I try and start her up again. |
