An electrical walkthrough to help others who may find themselves in a "No Spark" situation.

Thanks for taking the time and effort. That may come in handy in the near future. The difference in the boards was the most interesting for me. If you are interested in the differences between the boards I can send you more detailed photos of each CDI. I had the balance the video between length and amount of content.

Hot off the press! Thanks for the share. Thank you for the positive comment. I didn't want to seem like I was spamming the forum since I already posted the video over on It Is The Ride forum. But I know we have a different group of members here on Scooter Doc. I try to be an active member of both forums, but that hard to accomplish.

Has anybody ever wonder if the rumor was true that the blue "racing" CDIs were filled with gravel? Today I found out that it depends on which one you buy. All CDIs are filled with a insulating medium. For most units that medium is a plastic resin which sometimes includes fillers to possibly reduce cost. One was filled with sand. If you bought it new, and this is something new to you, I'm guessing you still have them. Search the forum about removing emission devices. When you do you will have two options for the fuel tank. 1. Run some hose from the fuel tank vent and cap with a fuel filter. 2. Cap the fuel tank vent barb and drill a small hole into the gas cap. I prefer the second method. This method allows me to add more fuel to the tank. scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/9153/emissions-on-scoots

How full do you fill the tank? And how is your tank ventilated and do you still have the emission devices installed? My thought is you are filling past the ventalation level causing vapor lock.

That's what I was thinking also. A leaking valve cover. A little tightening of the bolts should fix the problem.

An O2 sensor is a very good investment for performance tuning. I got mine for around $120, but well worth it. This allows the carb to be perfectly tuned through the entire range of the throttle. The sensor allowed me to keep my air:fuel ratio exactly at 13.5ish from 1/4 to 3/4 throttle. After 3/4 throttle the mixture drops to 12.5 for an optimal richness setting. www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/MTXL.php

Yesterday within an hour of placing an order for a expensive custom motorcycle seat bogus charges started coming up on my credit card. I was called this morning by the card company. One charge was over a grand. I have a new card coming and am not responsible for the bogus charges. I called the motorcycle seat place and canceled the order and will order one from some where else. That was the only charge at a new business for me in quite a few months, all other charges were at places I have done business with previously. Yesterday some thing just didn't seem right on their web site. It did have a secure web url but the way you filled in the form was strange. What was the original website that you ordered the seat from?

I agree... A cheap belt is cheap quality.
We had a discussion before, partsforscooters.com is a good source for a genuine gates Kevlar belt.

Yea that is a lot of oil coming out of it and smoking it is time for a rebuild sorry to say. Or you can put a fuel filter on the end of it and ride it till it quits on you BUT always check the oil level before you ride it. Alleyoop I recommend a piston ring change at this point. BBK for a little extra cash.
