Any ideas why my CVT belt would break again on my 150cc gy6 after only 3 weeks of being replaced? Ofc I got the cheapest chinese belt I could find but i want to say that a chinese belt should last at least a year.

You get what you pay for, the cvt creates a lot of heat and the cheap belt material cannot take the heat so they shred and break. It all has to do with the material they are made out of and since the good material costs more that has to be added to the cost of the belt. The rags they make the cheap belts out of are just that rags. So if you want to keep buying cheap belts expect to replace them very often. Alleyoop

I agree... A cheap belt is cheap quality.
We had a discussion before, partsforscooters.com is a good source for a genuine gates Kevlar belt.

get the gates belt. If you use an impact gun you don't need the tool. Just hold the variator with your hand and hit the nut with the impact gun.

yea the impact gun is $100 buks. i had to return the one I got. I rented one before my oil leak, the last time the belt popped and I am not going to ask for the ride across town to rent it again. i hate asking for favors. People act like they are sawing off their limbs for you

I bought this exact tool just before moving here to NC It is Great Quality and Works Fantastic. And can t beat the price. Its a Beast! I have no Problem blowing off 1-1/8 Nuts on a Rusty 72" Mower Deck. I have a room full of Pneumatic tools just no room for the Compressor to run them at this moment.

If you blow another belt try replacing your clutch. (Assuming you already inspected the variator and spun it on the crankshaft to check for resistance)
Every Time I had belts go back to back I replaced the clutch and never had to change the belt again.

A 50cc clutch will fit in a 150 and vice versa?
