SO I put a new gates standard on the bike. She sounds funny and I smelt some rubber burning so I parked her before i popped another belt. Could this be the result of the stator bolt not being tightened enough? I know my roller weights are going flat. Im thinking of buying a new variator and clutch set but I need to get this thing running asap. What does it mean if the variator spins with resistance?(i haven't checked to see it it has resistance just recapping a comment)
yea the impact gun is $100 buks. i had to return the one I got. I rented one before my oil leak, the last time the belt popped and I am not going to ask for the ride across town to rent it again. i hate asking for favors. People act like they are sawing off their limbs for you
Any ideas why my CVT belt would break again on my 150cc gy6 after only 3 weeks of being replaced? Ofc I got the cheapest chinese belt I could find but i want to say that a chinese belt should last at least a year.
Here you go: Stock gears on the 150 scoots are 13/40-- to get more speed you go up on the 13 gear and down on the 40 gear(JUST REMEMBER A BIGGER DRIVEN WHEEL WILL TURN A SMALLER SLAVE WHEEL MORE TIMES)example In my trike I put in 16/37 gears(OEM were 13/40)
Just be careful and not slap in to tall of gearing if your motor is basically stock displacement if you do it will be a SLUG. Don't forget your rpms will also drop(IF YOUR MOTOR DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH POWER/TORQUE TO PULL THE GEARING)so you have to know what your doing and may need some CVT tuning to get some rpms back.
The most I recommend on the gearing for a STOCK motor is 2up and 2down so if stock are 13/40 most put in is 15/38 gears. Alleyoop
cool. i can just stick em in there by hand?
Im up and running though but i have some squeaking like a mouse in a wheel. must be the new rings
