What I've learned: I have a 2008 Znen/Flyscooter Cadenza 150cc. 1200 miles. Runs great I've put about 50 miles on it weather permitting. It has pulled the two very steep hills I'll be traveling regularly at just over 40mph, max throttle. My engine is a GY6-B which is common to 16" wheeled scoots like mine.
What I've done so far: New Battery Changed motor and gear oil using Royal Purple 10w40 motor, 75w90 gear. I have but yet to install a new kevlar belt 906-22.5-30. I have orderd but yet to receive DC CDI unrestricted, performance coil wire, CR7 Iridium Spark Plug.
Current Contemplations: Replaceing stock roller weights with sliders. Unsure of weight of Stock weights but am led to believe they are probably 12g. Continuing to research a modest roller to slider change and any factors concerning weight change up or down. Also wondering if a straight up clutch upgrade would be cost effective or maybe clutch spring upgrade.
My motivations are not so much about speed, but more so about an overall solidification of my scoot performance. Any imput is welcomed any info about my particular scoot brand or engine is also welcomed.
Thanks

Don't use kevlar they are sh^t and when they break they explode... Iridium spark plugs expensive and marketing hype. They are no advantage in a scooter...want more power use a side gapped regular plug... www.sr20-forum.com/naturally-aspirated-all-motor/16898-how-side-gap-spark-plugs.htmlYou need to tune the entire CVT. Rollers, clutch springs, variator, contra spring etc. It is mostly trial and error. Time to adjust your valve gaps and replace all the fuel and vacuum hose spring clips with 4" zip ties. Pull then really tight with pliers...

Hello, im new so please bare with me. Lol I have a 2009 fly cadenza mods (lowered and extended) I was also told it had a bore kit but not sure.. the engine is a BN157QMJ-3 but gy6 is not carved into the other side. I have blown my exhaust valve and I believe its called the boot, the valve boot came out. My problem is finding a new valve case because although it says its a gy6-b engine every time I look up info on it, they have a 4 bolt head cover but mine only has 2. This engine and the info i have found has confused, yes I ha e been looking on this forum and it shows me a different engine then what I have. Actually the only thing I ever see different is the head and valve cover, can someone please help me figure this stuff out because this scooter is my only means of transportation. I loved riding it (besides the scrapping part) I was told to sell it and try to find a different one but life didn't deal me a great hand and good luck hardly comes my way.

1st start your own thread, Take pictures and post them showing where the problem is. Its hard to diagnose what you have with out them. There are almost zero cases of chinese parts that can not be had reasonably. And furthor what you have may not be as serious as you believe. john

rugged I have heard of people using ignition coils off of old fords( the one with only 2 leads) to botch together a coil on boot style ignition setup. And as I understand it they work about as good as the ones designed specifically for scoots. All it takes is a little southern ingenuity and a little time at the junkyard. If you're concerned about performance, just don't forget to keep the beast cool. Beasts hate heat.

Also, consider scrapping the pair(sp) system. I got rid of it on my cy50-a and it immediately ran smoother and a bit stronger.

Removing any and all emission systems on scoots, at least our chinese scoots, seems to be the first thing everybody does and is very frequently recommended on this forum. Unless you live in a state where emissions tests are required, I'd remove them.

Simplifying the vacuum system on these small engines can make a large difference in performance as well. Mostly In the way of fuel delivery since these systems don't have much vacuum pressure to begin with.

An O2 sensor is a very good investment for performance tuning. I got mine for around $120, but well worth it. This allows the carb to be perfectly tuned through the entire range of the throttle. The sensor allowed me to keep my air:fuel ratio exactly at 13.5ish from 1/4 to 3/4 throttle. After 3/4 throttle the mixture drops to 12.5 for an optimal richness setting. www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/MTXL.php

Now I wish I would have grabbed one of those while could have got it cheap. Post some pics of the Sensor into your new system. please.
