I removed the jumper I had on the brown/white and black/white wires. The main fuse stopped blowing and I was able to start the scooter; for a little while at least. If I can get the scooter running again I might just leave that jumper off. If not, I'll see if I can rig up a relay to make that "jump" only in the "on" position of the ignition switch.

OK, the directions were (in the order of jumping): 1. A Brown/White and a Black/White wire 2. Or 2 Black and White wires 3. Or A Grey and a Pinkish wire.
I know I jumped the Brown/White and Black/White wires. What are these two wires supposed to be servicing? Maybe mine are different colors. Or, should I just look for the next combination of wires to jump (e.g. Grey and Pinkish)?

OK, I jumped the b/w and br/w wires on the scooter side plug to the alarm. Now with the kill switch in the kill position; when I turn my key to the lock position I blow the 15 amp fuse going to the battery. Could this be a bad ignition switch?

No problem. There's a ton of things to do and we can't do all of them all of the time.

OK, wasn't getting any responses to this so I ordered the two bolts from an Honda parts dealer. The top bolt has the smaller hole in it. Hope this information helps others out there.

I changed out the stator and pickup this morning. I didn't see anything wrong with the stator or pickup. I also changed out the rotor. Didn't see anything wrong with that either.
Planning on changing out the wires going from the regulator, mini-relay/blocking diode, and CDI to 12 gage. Maybe I'll find a short or burned wire there. Some of the insulation on the wires are real stiff. Is this due to age or maybe overheating of the wires?
I'll wait till I've completed the wire change and received my new r/r from Tony before I try and start her up again.

On a yy250t water cooled engine (172mm) there's an external oil line from the crankcase up to the cylinder head. The top two banjo bolts are the same size, but, one has a bigger holed drilled through the side of the bolt than the other. The manual says to put the black banjo on the top, but, both of my banjos are chromed. Which banjo goes to the top/cylinder head?

I had already replaced the blocking diode. They call it a mini relay on the parts website. I'm changing out the fan switch since I have all the body parts off right now. The fan didn't seem like it was coming on. So I applied 12v directly to the fan just to make sure it was working. It was.
What other information would Tony need/want? I thought his r/r just put out more amps/volts than what's available from the parts guys.
I want to put on a volt meter so I can watch the charging while I right. What's a good meter and how do you install it?

Thanks!!! Once I get my scooter running again, I'll try the unhook/jumper thing. With the poor charging of my scooter, I don't want anymore current draw that I have to.

When I was changing out the stator/pickup, the right side cover hung up on something. I thought it may have just been the two rubber grommets for the stator/pickup. So I just carefully/slowly/evenly tightened done the bolts. I went to start the engine and it wouldn't turn over. The battery was fully charged. I tried a second time and heard a metalic bang then the engine turned over but did not start. After a few more tries the engine started. After a few days, I could not start the engine. I checked the three yellow wires coming from the stator and I was only getting 10.1 VAC. And that's where I am today.
I checked the three wires coming from the stator for grounding. No grounds found. Good right.
With the grommets being so tight on the right side cover, I was wondering if I may have cut one of the wires to the stator or pickup. I removed the cover and checked OHMs. I noticed that when I pressed the grommets the OHMs would increase. I can't remember by how much. I'm going ahead and change the stator/pickup, but this time, trim the grommets so that I don't have so much pressure/tension on the wires through the grommet. I'm also going to change out the rotor flywheel and get a r/r from Tony at Oregon Motorcycle parts. In fact he just emailed me to let me know he has all the info he needs.

Has anyone removed an alarm from a Jonway yy250t 250cc water cooled scooter. I have a 2010. What wires do I have to jump to allow the scooter to continue working.

At idle 12.3. At 4-5000 12.68.

OK, tested as directed. It's a D/C CDI. On the body of the CDI it's marked SMDB250C 1007 MD080603. It's manufactured by SANXIN.

Not sure what you're asking about "ac coil for ignition". I know the battery only turns the engine over. The CDI is powered by the stator and appears to be A/C.
