Hi everyone. I just joined this forum and I'm sure happy I found it. I'm thinking of buying a new 2014 or 2015 SYM CityCom 300i scooter. This scooter can be bought in most parts of the world with ABS brakes, but not in America. This makes no sense at all to me. In my opinion ABS brakes can be a real life saver. My question is after I buy this scooter can I pay someone to put better disk brakes on it? This is the one thing I would like to change. Thank you for your help. Ride safe my friends and ride often.

I am not sold on abs on a bike or scooter. You can pay to have just about anything you can think of done, if you can get the parts. I do know the "abs" on chinese scooters is not true abs, infact is only a valve to help keep from being able to lock up the front brake. If the abs on the new scooter is similar you are way better off with out it.

I don't care for it myself and ordered my BMW r1250r without it,,, but I'm sure that a search of wrecking yards will turn up the parts sooner or later,,,, Rich has a citycom and loves it,,, I'll post the name of the parts supplier he just ordered from If he doesn't chime in here soon,,, I can't think of the name of the supplier at the moment but he says he can get every part for any Sym ,,,
