I did that myself. that CVT cover is my original. I masked it off carefully with painters tape and used a scrolling jugsaw to do teh cut out over the clutch and used a 2 1/2 inch hole saw to cut teh hole for the variator.

Wow, I'm impressed. That not only saved you some mega-bucks but it's a one of a kind now. Do you think a cover is necessary at all for the CVT? I'm redoing my Peace 150 and was thinking of leaving it exposed, a totally naked look. Did you have to use heat resistant paint? Rich

I have seen several people on line with no cover, Skye (ASSC club member here in Utah) that is building the custom "chooter" is going to run his open. I did mine mostly for looks, and for cooling. The paint is heavy duty auto paint, whatever that is, but it works great so far. The clutch bell has close to 1k miles on it (with the paint) with no problems. I am just a little paranoid to run mine open, and I think it looks great. I did 120 miles today, and had no heat problems at all.

I put new speakers on this weekend and for some white LED strips in to mod the healights for the "halo" look. Should be a great look for the headlights and very distinctive. Got a mount for my phone commng that I will mod so I can have my GPS and toons as well. As soon as I have the headlights done I will post pics!

Cool, looking forward to it. I think if your just running on the road and not through a bunch of gravel and dirt an open CVT is fine. When I took my cover off the first time a bunch of powder crap fell out. I thought, what's the point, you're just holding all off that in! I'm running mine open from now on, I like to hear it work. OK, Body work; check New Paint on said body work; check Top end removed and new base gasket installed; check (I figured our what was causing my leak, there is a small, scratch in the surface of the cylinder body where it mates with the engine. This is exactly where the leaking is happening so I figure the pressure is just pushing oil out through the micro channel that is created. The only thing I could think of was to fill the scratch with JB Weld. Did it, and am letting it cure with the gasket and all put together. Hopefully this will solve my issue.) Pics to follow!!!

Here are pics of the new panels. Note the new grills. Also, I was not originally going for the stealth fighter look, but 4 coats of gloss black and 2 coats of flat clear give you what I got. These will be going on the scoot on Monday. s699.photobucket.com/albums/vv353/ventoscoot/Spring%202011%20make%20over/Front cowling, needs a new hood ornament and an "antisocial" decal Close up of side body work with new cooling mesh panels Full side panel Front panel under the nose of the seat again w/ mesh Should get this all on the scoot on Tuesday or so. More pics to come.

No, it did not come with those shocks. The ride is great. A little harsh, but that is because I lowered it, not because of the shocks. Hopefully will have body panels on tonight w/pics!!
