The belt broke last summer and one of the steel wires got in back and wrapped around the oil seal and pushed it in the engine. I got the correct seal from two different places to make sure the size was correct.. It seems the seal goes in place but with in very short time after starting the seal just pops out and oil starts leaking. It is the correct seal. My thought is the wire spinning around in the seat wore the space open a bit more. I put non hardening gasket sealer around but it didn't help. I thought about epoxying a thin wire across the seat above and below the shaft. Any other ideas. There was no issues till the belt broke and the wire went back there. Another thought, there is a gap between the pressed on gear and the seal. What if I put another seal facing it with the two front sides together holding it in place. Thanks for any thoughts or ideas.
