Moved to Fl Nov. 2018 and had the scoot in storage since then. We have 7/8 mile of sand roads till paved roads so my sweetie wasn't to anxious to ride. She asked about it so I put fresh gas in with some injector cleaner and let it set for a bit. The battery didn't come back so I replaced it. It fired up and ran around the yard. The back brake worked good but the front was gone. She didn't want to put anymore into it because of age and 9500 miles. I just got in from taking it apart and discoved although there was some brake fluid sitting in the top of the rubber seal the fuild below had turned to gel. Has anyone experienced this and can it be flushed/re-used ? I had put a new m/c and caliper on about five years ago. Thanks for any replies. God bless. Hk

Thanks for all the comments. The new caliper came with a new bold and washers so it should fit ok since I have the cable length. Alleyoop, I think a seal is shot as there is no brake pressure and caliper/pads had fluid over them. I imagine think there is Chinese rubber in there somewhere. My beloved, who's scoot it is, was thinking three wheels next time. I'm not sure I want to deal with another Chinese project for the next 10 years.

I'm spending the last $100 or so on this RX-200 on it's tenth riding season. The front caliper must have failed this past winter storage. I found a very similar replacement on e-bay but it is missing the so called ABS part.Is it any problem to eliminate this part ? Thanks and God bless

The belt broke last summer and one of the steel wires got in back and wrapped around the oil seal and pushed it in the engine. I got the correct seal from two different places to make sure the size was correct.. It seems the seal goes in place but with in very short time after starting the seal just pops out and oil starts leaking. It is the correct seal. My thought is the wire spinning around in the seat wore the space open a bit more. I put non hardening gasket sealer around but it didn't help. I thought about epoxying a thin wire across the seat above and below the shaft. Any other ideas. There was no issues till the belt broke and the wire went back there. Another thought, there is a gap between the pressed on gear and the seal. What if I put another seal facing it with the two front sides together holding it in place. Thanks for any thoughts or ideas. GBY

ALLEY. So you says it's a bit bigger so it takes a bit of force to press it in ? No sealer/adhesive used. What about lube. Thanks. GBY

I had a little pick like thing to get it out like shown in the picture. My neighbor(a retired mechanic)gave it to me to use, The seal is rubber with a spring on the inside to keep the seal against the shaft. Guess my next step is to try a better one and see how it holds. Is the oil level okay the top of the xx's with the dipstick just set in place ? You think it's more the seal not setting right.

It was a generic from ebay. It came in a pack of 4 with two being the size i had. The original was damaged and pushed into the crankcase. It was a bear to remove. The replacement seal just fits in halfway as some of it sticks out. They do just push in. As for the pics it looks like the one on the left, the honda one looks more substantial. How far should it push in? Thanks

It is a 150 cc that is modified. I fill the oil till it reaches the xxx'x at the top with the stick just set in and not screwed in. 10-40 syn. Not sure where the crankcase breather is but there were no leaks before. The seals were got on ebay for a 150 cc. The bore doesn't seem like it was damaged. The seal pushes right in but it sticks out a bit and not flush with the bore. TY

Last month the belt broke in my wife's RX-200. She was going pretty fast and the belt broke into pieces with the steel wires wrapped behind the kick start gear and tore up the seal. I pressed in a new one and put it back together. My wife rode it to her job a few miles away and saw a big puddle of oil when she returned. I took it apart and found the seal popped out and oil everywhere. I told my neighbor(retired mechanic) and he recommended some gasket sealer that supposed to harden. I let this set overnight and the next afternoon I figure I'll start it before I put it back. With a in a few minutes of idling I hear a pop and see the seal in out. The outer edge all oily. I had cleaned the bushing and the seat with an alcohol wiper to remove oil. It something wrong that it don't fit snugly. Should I use some kind of epoxy to hold it in. There were no problem before the belt tore. Thanks for any help. GBY

I sold the GY6 performance exhaust to a guy in FL that has a 150 cc Tao Tao. It has an unusual mount. Anyone install a GY6 performance muffler with the stock bands? Thanks and God bless..

I replaced the exhaust system on my wife's Strada RX-200 with a Gen 2 SS exhaust system. It sounded great BUT she says she don't like the noise. I replace it with stock items which seem chintzy compared to the SS one. I noticed that the exhaust pipe was really sooty. I noticed the exhaust manifold bolts weren't the tightest. Is the soot coming from a possible air leak or from the carb. Also the front brake line is twisted out, can I loosen the bolt up a bit at the crush washer to swing it back in place. Will it re-tighten without washer replacement. Thanks and God bless.
BTW I have the 2nd Gen SS Round exhaust system ebay link in the "parts for sale.

Just turned 6k on my wife's scoot. She says the other day something is not right. So I listen and it sounds like something let loose inside the muffler. I'd like to take this time to add a litter better performance muffler. I had to replace the header pipe once and those pipes are in sad shape compared to something that is ground flush and polished. Can anyone suggest an exhaust system that gives better performance yet is not too much louder than stock. Thanks for any help. God bless.
