Hadn't had much issues the last two seasons with my wife's RX-200 so I haven't been here the last two years..Last Oct I put it away with fresh gas and stabilizer plus I drained the float bowl. It was running fine when put away. Having a real nice start in the riding season here in Pa. I get it out yesterday and got it started after cranking a bit but it runs rough (like put put) and stalls if the throttle is backed off. Figuring the gas lost it's octane I drained and put fresh in. Ran the same even with new gas. Starts easy but it runs rough as you have to have the throttle on just to where the wheel starts spinning to keep it running.. Any ideas where to start looking ? Thanks. GBY
BTW I don't see a lot of familiar faces.

Appears your Pilot Jet and or Passages have some varnish build in them restricting the gas flow. You could try some seafoam 1 oz per gallon and see if it clears up. Otherwise you will have to take the carb off and clean out the Pilot Jet passages all the way to the tiny holes by the Butterfly. What I do is I do not drain anything just put it away for the winter BUT I start it up Once a week and let it run for about 15 minutes and that is all. Sometimes I start it up Once every two weeks and been doing that for 3 years now. Mine holds 4.8 gallons of gas I have a 5 gallon can of gas and I add 4 ozs of Seafoam to the 5 gallon tank and go and fill it up to 4 1/2 gallons. I use seafoam all year round. Since I got it I have yet to take the carb off to clean it starts up on a dime all year round. Alleyoop

Stabilizers suck in CV carbs... probably need to clean the carb, but you might try spraying STP carb and injector cleaner into the venturi of the carb and all the small holes and let it sit overnight.. you may get lucky
Fresh gas and Seafoam...

also try draining out the carb, and letting it sit over night in the STP sprocket suggested. what i would do after that is drain the fuel from tank and only put a cup or two of fresh 89 octane in the tank, then pour a little rubbing alcohol into the tank as well and try running it like that untill the scoot runs out of gas if you can get it to idle long enough. also your carb's diaphram could be eaten up from sitting so long. sprocket! why in the world didnt you suggest the valve adjustment? your slackin bro! i wonder, since that rx-200 is a 170cc motor, what type of carb does it have on it? is it the standard 24mm? and alley, holy cow 4.8 gallons of gas?! mine only holds 1.6 gallons lol

Alley carries 3.2 gallons in a backpack with a hose attached to the tank. Actually I think the Trike holds that much. Rich

Thanks for all the replies. I posted at an old forum but not much response there. Seafoam is on my list. I do see a few posters here I remember. As for the varnish, I drained the float bowl and figured the vacuum valve would keep the carb free of gas..We'll I guess it wouldn't hurt to pull out the seat bucket just to check the chinese rubber this year.. The carb removal is a go from there. As an offshoot, I was wondering about getting out the original chinese break fluid. Would the new fluid affect the chinese rubber in the front caliper..I never messed with brake fluid and calipers other than changing pads. Do you need special tools ? Thanks GBY

Be certain to match the brake fluid that is written on the top of the brake reservoir.. Older scooters are DOT3 and later ones use DOT4. It should be changed every 2-3 years. Some people us a vacuum pump bleeder but I have never found it necessary on a 4 ft brake hose www.harborfreight.com/brake-bleeder-and-vacuum-pump-kit-92474.htmlOh ya.. be very careful not to spill brake fluid on any plastic parts it will eat off the finish in a few seconds...cover all body plastic with a green garbage bag, before you change the brake fluid...and bleed the lines For $5 these work well if you are not into making your own www.harborfreight.com/one-man-brake-bleeder-kit-37201.html

YEP, Back in 2009 when they First came out with the TRIKES the one I have was called PST150H and it has a 4.8 gallon Tank up front. I can go 300 miles or more without filling up. It is funny, I fill it up and the gauge says it is full for a hell of a long time because the Float is actually underwater and does not start to register until I have about 2 1/2 gallons left. ;D You poor SLOBS have to fill up every 50 or so miles watch out for any long trips and check your route and make sure there are gas stations within reach of your poultry gas tanks (HAHA). Your jets will be plugged they need to be removed and cleaned with a thin wire and carb cleaner

No.. it won't help, you need to open the carb up, by taking off the float bowl and removing the two jets. Then run wires though all the fine holes in the venturi...
Do a search here there is a bunch of information on this topic

Here is what you need to do, take the carb bowl cover off and this is what you will be looking at. Get a Spray Can of Carb Cleaner they come with a nice LONG THIN straw. Take the Jets out and clean them and make sure you can see light through them. Then Take the Cleaner and stick the Straw into the HOLES WITHOUT the JETS IN and Spray into the passages. When you spray into the PILOT JET HOLE HERE IS WHERE the SPRAY SHOULD BE COMING OUT: When you spray into the MAIN JET HOLE HERE IS WHERE THE SPRAY SHOULD BE COMING OUT: Alleyoop

A canal pac for a scooter great ideal ,since I ran out of gas yesterday . Got to get that float fixed i dont know about that being such a great idea, in essence, it is a great idea, but when you think about it realistically, if you were to get into an accident with a back pack full of petrol, you would go from being red rider, to a afghan suicide bomber. just imagine a flying human bomb, not cool. well for me to witness, that would be cool, but for the one wearing the backpack, that wouldnt be fun.
