I regret to inform I must sell my beloved scooter as she has never let me down and through it was able to meet this great community of avid scooter enthusiast. It's located in wauchula Florida. I have made the following modifications. Racing orange cdi, high output coil/ignition, torch plug, air filter upgrade, trickle charger, New battery, drilled air flow holes on lower cowl to enhance cooling, I'm uploading this from an android phone so I can't find it but if the admins could do me a favor and post a link to my video I uploaded last year that could help people see my Scoot. Price for my scooter is 200. Selling cheap because I must fix my Durango asap, got into an accident and insurance didn't cover damages. Only downside to my scooter is it needs a rear 13 inch drum rim, so the rear swing arm is off and the muffler is of, it's ready to slap a new rim on and put back together. I don't have a computer at the moment so i will try to respond to inquires as fast as I can.thanks and happy scooting. Attachments:

in search of a rear rim for a 150cc scoot, i am positive that i counted 19 teeth to the gear. if you have a parts scoot or a rim let me know your price and i will cover shipping, color does not matter and the rim must be a drum brake style, not a disk brake style! thanks fellow docs, happy scootin'!

rear tire

if your attempting to remove the tire your going to need allot more then just a wrench, i would recommend using air/electric impact gun to make it easy on you. if your taking off just the tire from the rim, you only have to take off the right side bracket. if you want to remove complete tire and wheel, you will need to take apart the clutch end of your cvt starting with your clutch and work your way to the gear spindles. yeah its a pain. where is bash or alley with the full breakdown already lol

i just had to post the battery powered stuff for the less mechanical scooter enthusiasts who stare at the thought of changing their stator as a cow would stare at an on-coming train. and yes john, we all know you have the most expensive winter wear ( gerbings ) nice high quality though. @ bash, holey toledo! the power consumption is insane for that set there! fwew you could brave the coldest blizzard in that suit!

how thick is the oil? and does it have a gas smell to it? maybe your valve seals/seats are bad and causing excessive oil leak? need more info...

Oil Leak
by: bcgreatness - Jul 7, 2012 4:04:53 GMT -6
Post by bcgreatness on Jul 7, 2012 4:04:53 GMT -6
yes it is messy, and that black plastic cover over top of the tensioner is what threw me off from noticing it right away. i had to have washed my scoot 20 times that week trying to locate the source of the leak. imo i would rather have the tensioner leak then the valve gasket. both easy fixes though. if it is the tensioner, upon reinstall, as bashan stated, you have to release the tensioner once its installed back on the motor, i would give it a decent quarter turn after it stops just to insure its nice n snug, but NOT too tight you dont want to wear out your chain guide, that would be very bad happy scootin'

another idea, it wouldnt cause your scoot to die out, but if its backfiring, it might have an air leak somewhere. i would check your intake manifold for cracks and also check where your exhaust header pipe bolts to the engine to see if its loose. tell us if you have any vaccume lines hooked up to your intake manifold, might help troubleshoot.

Oil Leak

i bet you that its your cam chain tensioner gasket. mine blew out at 800 miles and for the life of me i could not figure out where it was coming from. finally found it and a 5$ bottle of high temp black RTV silicone fixed the problem, find it at any auto part store. if its leaking from the tensioner, and you do have to take it off to re-seal it, be carefull not to even look at your scoot the wrong way, dont want it jumpin out of time lol. hope u find the leak, happy scootin'

keep the shroud, you need it! only effective cooling measure is to get a new head that has a coolant port and to hook up a radiator. too expensive of an upgrade if you ask me. another way to keep temps down is to hook up an oil cooling radiator which requires extensive modding to achieve. simple enough to just keep your shrouds on. happy scootin'!

try making a new ground, that spruiced up a few of my low power issues. i put the extra ground on the valve cover. run 1 wire from negative on battery to the valve cover, and second, see the ground on the fan cover? tap into that and run a wire from there to your valve cover and tighten the bolt down, try the voltage test again. also not a great idea to jump ur scoot from cars even if they are off if anything, disconnect your battery, and hook the jumper cables to the battery and let it sit for a few mins, that usually charges them up enough to turn over. in addition, i own a roketa 150cc, and the stock oem battery calls for a 6 pound battery. i upgraded mine to a 9 because that was the largest one i could stuff into the battery box. hooked up my trickle charger and have not had any starting issues since. if you get new battery go for the 9er. happy scootin'!

we do alot of ebay and im pretty sure that there is no box that you could fit a rim into that is flat rate, even if you could im sure there is a weight limit on what you stuff into a flat rate box. not too sure on the limit though, will have to check on that.

test your carbs auto enricher ( pretty much an electronic auto choke ) it might be jammed or just not working. sounds like it is stuck open. the way it works is when the engine is cold, it opens up to allow extra fuel to the carb so that it starts easier, when it senses a rise in temp, it closes back down to cut off the extra fuel to the carb, so you dont run rich. so if your in 100 degree temp trying to start it, you wouldnt need that extra fuel to start but so maybe its in a sense its getting too much fuel at times. what i did was an auto enricher bypass. if you live in a high altitude region or a state that gets snow in the winter, then i would NOT do the bypass. only works good if your some what close or at sea level, and it does not get too cold year-round. with that said, ignore everything i just typed, and re-adjust your valves to .004 / .005 lol if the scoot is new or still in the break in period, then 4 4 would be fine at first. hope that helps ya! happy scootin'
