yeah thats the plan to do something like that. im just trying to think of what i can use to make one. i have hose and clamps i just want to find a cool bottle like the ones ive been seeing monster gy6 use. NOT the one they sell but the ones you see on his project scoots. what im looking for is the blue NOS bottle. i know its an energy drink bottle but i have not seen them for a while and last time i looked for one i didnt see it in any stores. will have to go with less stylish bottle for now lol. didnt you or someone on here do a franken-scoot with a home made oil cooler? any progress or testing on that yet? i need to make one. wow your up awfully early rich lol.

took my scoot out to tampa the other day to visit my father. im in sebring and hes in tampa. its about a little over 90 miles but i had to make a pit stop 30 miles out of my way before i could depart. its normally a 2 hour ride in a car doing about 70-75 mph. wish i had a helmet cam or was able to take pics, sorry couldnt do it this time. started out on the 30 mile ride and pushed the scoot hard. WOT almost the whole way. she didnt let me down. so when i got back from the 30 mile ride i decided not to push the scoot anymore and cruised at 50 mph the whole way, cruised 60 a few times. i made 3 stops, once every 30 miles and let my scoot cool for about 20 mins. so a 2 hour drive took me about 3 n a half hours. was pretty nice, scoot didnt give me any problems at all. did notice by time i made it to tampa, most my oil blew out. not sure if it came from the vent or not but will inspect in daylight tomorrow. very very pleased with quality of my 08' chino scooter. she didnt let me down! i am considering getting an oil catch can with filter to relieve crank case pressure as im sure that was the reason the oil blew out. also going to look into an electric pump oil cooler so i dont have to stop so many times to let her cool.

arent some stators for AC and some for DC? or are they all the same and its just the type of reg/rec that you have installed? i know that it has to go with how your lights and instruments are set up but was jw. and i would go with tvnacmans advice and just get an 11pole to save the trouble.

it doesnt really matter but i do kill switch then key. also i would do a full PDI on that scoot since its still relatively new. also since your hornet has only 50 miles on it, i would NOT run it past half throttle, 3/4 throttle at the most untill atleast 500-600 miles. another note, because your hornet is new, and the engine is not broke it yet, it will want to die on you on occasion for the next couple hundred miles. reason being, is because over time, and natural wear and tear, the valves will stretch a little, throwing off your perfect adjustments, so if i were you, i would set the idle on the high side to where it almost spins the wheel. i have mine set at 2000rpms and it still wants to die every once in a while, even after a perfect valve adjustment. as far as the warming up goes. i find that after letting my scoot warm up for atleast 5-10 mins when i have the time, it grants it almost peak performance as apposed to just starting it, letting it sit for a min, and taking off. technically, you dont have to allow the engine to warm up, only thing you need to wait for is to be sure all of the fluids are circulating, then its fine, which that period of time is about a min or less. but like i said, if i start my scoot, wait a min, and take off. it takes a few seconds to hit top speeds, when i let it warm up for 5-10 mins, i notice that it accelerates to top speed much faster. on the petrol note, my scoot says use 90 octane and above, i use 89 which is mid grade but im lucky to have a no ethanol "farm equipment" fuel gas station around the corner. bad part is a gallon of that stuff is over 4$ for regular. well hope i could help! happy scootin'!

when i was 12, i was outside of my house at about 10 at night, we had one of those bushes in our front yard. i seen something fly up to it and almost land on it, i thought it was a bat at first so i took off my baseball cap and swung at it. what ever it was i had not intentionally caught it in my had to i set my cap on the back of my moms car and it didnt move at all. at first i thought i didnt catch anything, that i missed, and whatever it was, flew away. so i then lifted my cap up to see what it was. i was shocked to see it was a humming bird as it flew hastily out of the baseball cap. will never forget that night. that is amazing to see somebody train wild humming birds, its like training squirrels with cups and nuts but instead they have wings!

the compression should range from a low of 90 to a high of 120 its ok to be higher, but i dont see how you got a 185psi reading that is pretty high for a 150cc

welcome to the forum 150hornet glad to have ya my 150cc hits 60 easy with just me on it although im light weighing only 155lbs. all i did was removed my stock air box and replaced it with an after market filter, added a racing orange coil pack, a new orange racing AC CDI, purchased a free flow exhaust, did the tubeless tire conversion, and just the other day i installed a 1.5 amp on board trickle charger by shoemaker and thats about it. with me and my ol lady my scoot still hits 55-60 mph. the total i spent to do all of that was about 320$ which is very cheap. if you want to add those same parts to a real motorcycle, your looking into the 500$ and up range. i would also take a look into the PDI section. happy scootin'

you should check the needle in the diaphram of the carb to see if its jammed up. my scoot had your symptoms for a few days. i checked mine and it was jammed so i got it loose and noticed that it had damaged the needle from it being stuck and me trying to run it that way. my needle broke 2 days later. i have since then got a new needle from a minuki carb off of a mystery scoot and she runs great. long story short i think you should check it.

maybe its a pressure/temp release valve that under high enough pressure/heat, it will allow some of the fluid to escape thus relieving pressure/heat? it looks as if it has had some trans fluid come out of it at some point. JMO

A canal pac for a scooter great ideal ,since I ran out of gas yesterday . Got to get that float fixed i dont know about that being such a great idea, in essence, it is a great idea, but when you think about it realistically, if you were to get into an accident with a back pack full of petrol, you would go from being red rider, to a afghan suicide bomber. just imagine a flying human bomb, not cool. well for me to witness, that would be cool, but for the one wearing the backpack, that wouldnt be fun.
