My daughter Mandi has tamed the hummingbirds in her backyard. Here's three videos, if you watch carefully you'll see them land on her hand as she feeds them. Rich

I haven't seen any around here yet but am waiting. I usually put out the sugar water as soon as they get here. They put up quite a fuss when the feeder is missing. I have a picture window over the kitchen sink with one in the middle of it.

when i was 12, i was outside of my house at about 10 at night, we had one of those bushes in our front yard. i seen something fly up to it and almost land on it, i thought it was a bat at first so i took off my baseball cap and swung at it. what ever it was i had not intentionally caught it in my had to i set my cap on the back of my moms car and it didnt move at all. at first i thought i didnt catch anything, that i missed, and whatever it was, flew away. so i then lifted my cap up to see what it was. i was shocked to see it was a humming bird as it flew hastily out of the baseball cap. will never forget that night. that is amazing to see somebody train wild humming birds, its like training squirrels with cups and nuts but instead they have wings!
