I've been rolling around on the concrete floor too long. I got a coupon in a motorcycle mag for the Harbor Freight motorcycle lift and decided to take the plunge. The wife and I took the trailer over to the Harbor Freight store here in Birmingham and loaded one up. You've all seen it advertised, it's the bright red one that they say will lift a 1,000 pounds. I wouldn't trust it to do that but it'll do a scooter no problem. Here it is assembled on the floor of my basement workshop:
It has a tire vise but it's made more for motorcycles than scooters:
Here it is in the upright position and you can see it's made of some solid stuff. The two wheels at the rear are steel, you don't see that much anymore:
It's wide enough to put a kickstand down:
But the Motorino's disc brake wouldn't fit over the vise so I put it on the centerstand:
I used the Canyon Dancer handlebar ties to secure the Fashion and also put it on the centerstand:
I've got to get the body panels off so I can service the transmission, that should give the lift a good tryout. Rich

What are the dimensions, length, width? If I got one to lift my trikes Would I need to put out riggers on it to get the rear tires on it? Or should i just continue to use a floor jack and milk crates?

Dude, that's awesome, it's like an aircraft carrier for your scooter!

It's actuated by the bigass pedal that the red arrow is pointing to in the picture, it's easy to lift because the pedal arm is so long:
Here's the description from the Harbor Freight site:
- Foot-operated pump and ram assembly leaves your hands free.
- Easily lifts motorcycles and ATVs up to 1000 lbs. for servicing.
- Heavy-duty hydraulic pump with hands-free foot pedal operation
- Diamond plate steel platform and ramp
- Retractable casters and integrated leg-lock for safe operation
- Three position tire vise opens to 6-1/8"
- 7" wide tire stop
- Removable steel ramp with dual mount pins for security
- Max lift height: 30"
- Min lift height: 7"
- Platform dimensions: 86-1/2" L x 26-3/4" W
- Ram travel: 3-5/8"
- Shipping Weight: 347.00 lb.
With the coupon and picking it up rather than shipping I paid $299.99. Rich

If my drive way was not pitched down towards the garage door I would have one . Does it need to be bolted to the floor ?

it looks like his garage is part of the basement , one large space . I see why he can do what he does . Rich you have a great setup there . The one down side is if you use anything like gas or paint it eminates all over the house .
Rich , lets venture into my expertise . Snap a shot of the water heater and the furnace .
