150Cc BMS Pathfinder
Electric starter struggles to turn over engine. Kick starts right away. Had battery load tested and it was find. Checked the relay, it works. Removed the starter and tested it and it spun freely. But when it is attacted to the scooter, it does not turn or turns a little. I jumped my car battery to the scooter and it was able to turn the starter and start the scooter. I have a battery tender and it states the battery is fully charged. I even checked it with my voltage meter.
Is it possible that my battery is not good even though it passed a load test?
Do I have a bad starter or Stator?

All I can tell you is on a used 50cc gy6 I just bought for a gift the battery checked good but just barely can turn it over. the battery out of another scooter was swapped and now it starts fine. I ordered a new battery. those little batteries just don't test right at least on walmarts testers. john

Hope the car wasn't running when you jumped the scooter battery... if it was running you have likely fried the regulator...
On the battery issue test the voltage on the thin red wire on the positive battery terminal...you should have 13.5++ volts DC. It is the wire with the fuse inline
Also check the green ground wire from the engine to the frame..clean the point where it attaches to the frame very well, attach the wires again and cover the area with silicone to prevent corrosion.

Scooter is 1 year old with 320 miles on it. I did not jump it with the car running... no need. Car battery has more than enough juice to turn over a scooter.
Maybe I will just buy a new battery, but I believe it is fine.

Well they can test good with a meter, But it may not take a LOAD, I say you have a bad battery. Alleyoop

All of the above is accurate. Also, before a starter is about to burn up they'll start drawing a lot of current but won't have much cranking power. You might need a new starter. There's ohms tests but they're not very accurate. If it was me I'd get a new starter if the battery and grounds are good....they're not that expensive. Rich

try making a new ground, that spruiced up a few of my low power issues. i put the extra ground on the valve cover. run 1 wire from negative on battery to the valve cover, and second, see the ground on the fan cover? tap into that and run a wire from there to your valve cover and tighten the bolt down, try the voltage test again. also not a great idea to jump ur scoot from cars even if they are off if anything, disconnect your battery, and hook the jumper cables to the battery and let it sit for a few mins, that usually charges them up enough to turn over. in addition, i own a roketa 150cc, and the stock oem battery calls for a 6 pound battery. i upgraded mine to a 9 because that was the largest one i could stuff into the battery box. hooked up my trickle charger and have not had any starting issues since. if you get new battery go for the 9er. happy scootin'!

Yep, the batteries can test good but will not take a load. If you have a meter on the scoot you would see the volt meter drop like a rock as soon as you pushed the start button. Alleyoop
