Just turned 6k on my wife's scoot. She says the other day something is not right. So I listen and it sounds like something let loose inside the muffler. I'd like to take this time to add a litter better performance muffler. I had to replace the header pipe once and those pipes are in sad shape compared to something that is ground flush and polished. Can anyone suggest an exhaust system that gives better performance yet is not too much louder than stock. Thanks for any help. God bless.

Well I modified my stock pipe. While doing my first set mods, we put some sort of asbestice cloth (while it was on there it think it helped it form rusting some) about 2-3 inches from the flange, and ground down the flange nice and neat for better air flow. Just recently (wish i had taken pics) I took that off and and chipped and sanded all the rust i could off the header pipe rubbed it down with powdered graphite and took a 15 foot by 1 inch roll of graphite fiber glass header wrap and wrapped it all the way to the can, with a hose clamp at the flange and stainless zip ties just after the first bend and two more next to each other just before the weld bead that connects the can.
Personally i'd lover to have higher quality quite pipe with more flow and that is as quiet or quieter.
