Now that the stator and regulator are new I'm having a weird issue with my headlights. They are dim, when I rev up the engine they get even dimmer or go out, and when I press the brakes they light up to full brightness. Anyone?

I talked to Jack about your problem and we feel that you have a ground issue. You hit the brake and are connecting the battery to the headlight circuit. You need to check all of your grounds and make sure they are clean and intact. Of especial importance would be the ground for the brake light. Also check and make sure there is no short between the yellow and black wire. The yellow is AC to the headlights (usually) and the black is DC from the key switch.

OK thanks will check all of that. I didn't think to check the green ground wire at the headlight plug to ground. I hooked the low beams up to 12v from the ignition switch for now the wires that go to the headlight plug for high and low beams are cut right now but when I hit the high beam switch the battery voltage at idle drops from 12.5 to 11.9. So much fail happening in my wiring. I have a good batt neg to engine and engine to frame and engine into harness. And a wire coming out of the harness to ground up front.
