OK Mr. Carmen what failed? Was it the stator regulator? Perhaps just an aged out battery? If your not going to dig in and find out, did you want to sell?

John, look at your signature, it's a poster child for what I am saying. If it's not one thing breaking it's another. Actually I haven't sorted through what's wrong with this bike and that's not fair to you. It's failure may have nothing to do with what we did together, it probably didn't. I'm just saying I'm sick of failing Chinese components and I am moving on. We are going to go look at Kymco bikes in the morning and I am going to get the wife a bike she will not think twice about getting on. Everybody can parse whether it was the battery, or stator, or R/R, or connections, or whatever. The fact of the matter is my SYM has NEVER failed, the Puma has started giving me a boatload of trouble. The front end shakes, the rotor wobbles, the fairing rattles.....I'm done folks, put a fork in this bike....and me.....we're done with Chinese. If y'all want me to bow out of this forum because of how I feel I will but I never said this was a Chinese scooter forum and neither did Jack when we started it. I'm buying a Kymco and I'm getting rid of all the Chinese products I have. Dredge up what you will on this forum, I know what I wrote, you won't embarrass me. I know when to move on.....do you?

You gave me a great deal on every bike. You could not have been more honest or straightforward. I don't regret any of the deals we made, or the gross conversations we had, I learned a lot and had fun doing it. Don't get me wrong folks, Cookees was above reproach in all of this, I'd buy another bike from him in a heartbeat......if it was a SYM.

I know when to move on.....do you? Been there, done that. I just don’t have the time to sit and sift thru so many possible failures every time my bike dies. It took me two bikes to get there. You WILL notice that maybe once or twice in the forum I have posted that I left China for Japan, and I can't be happier with my decision. Sure, they are getting better everyday. I believe that, but I'm too impatient for that. I want my bike now, not when I can figure the fricken thing out. I have been looking at a Victory at the local Stealers. Very sweet, and a very high reliability score. The Nighthawk is so sweet, but the wife doesn't care for it. Need something more comfy for her. She IS delicate you know.... Check out the Cross Country. I like the titanium gray one. VICTORY MOTORCYCLES
Rich, you BETTER not think anymore about leaving. Don't make me send Pedro over to give you a good slap. Pedro, Pedro Jalapeno on a stick.
Who cares if you ride Chino or not? Not me. I gave those up for lent and I'm still here. Besides, Where are we gonna find a new drinkin buddy at this late hour?

Rich, you have the means to move on to a name brand product. Some people do not and thats fine, I wolud keep one for reference and testing. I never saw anything on here or any of the forums that stated you must have a Chinese scooter to be part of the forum. You feel how you feel thats what makes us human.

Isn't this the same guy who used to sell those better than all the other Chinese scooters called...............gasp CF Moto? Then he had the nerve to sell you this latest POS Chinese scooter? Why the very nerve of this guy!
It's time to gather up the boys of the Hood!

At this point it looks like the Kymco is dead in the water. The dealer that was in town appears to have merged with a motorcycle dealer and they look sketchy. However, there's a Lance PCH 125 that appears to be afoot. Lance is made by SYM so I would love to have one. Plus it's a smallish bike perfect for the wife. I'll keep y'all posted. In regards to Cookees selling me something under false pretenses, he never overstated anything that I bought from him. I was the one that wanted CF Moto and he gave me great deals. I pushed both CFs over the limit and if I had used my head with them they would probably still be running. I had the Peg well into the 9K RPM range when it roasted and too many 75MPH runs with the Fashion. I can only blame myself. He did tell me when he sold me the SYM that they are "bulletproof" and so far he has been spot on.

Got the Puma running, it looks like it was another bad coil. John's R/R and stator seem to be working stellar pumping out 14.5v DC. I'm running an AC CDI off of John's stator. It has a magneto coil you can use for an AC CDI or run DC if you wish. Still, the wife is gun shy for this bike now and insists on Taiwanese. So I'll be selling the Puma to help pay for the new bike. Cyborg suggested cleaning out my basement and just keeping two bikes, I think I will heed his advice.

Does anyone else find it ironic that Bashan is Bashing on scooters made in Bashan?
I don't think any differently about you for this decision. You are still one of the most helpful people around, and I will always appreciate that! If I had a wife demanding things like this, I would either do as she desires, or look for a good divorce attorney, and I can't afford a good divorce attorney!

Thanks Jerry, kind words from a kind and knowledgeable man. Pete, quit spitting on me with the Daffy Duck imitation!
Here's the short story. In 2009 my wife ordered two crate scooters from Green Earth Scooters that were manufactured by Bashan Aeronautical Thingie Group. They were flawed.....very flawed. The wife's bike had a crushed battery acid container and acid had dripped all over the engine. The bolt that held the handlebars on was way too small and the bars wobbled all over the place. I kept thinking I was doing something wrong and finally I realized these things were crap. I made them work and in the process Jack and I started Scooter Doc. In search of a nicely built scooter I ran through a Motorino, two CFs, a Puma, and finally a SYM. The SYM was the bullseye, everything else fell short although I tried my best to love them. So that's what brings me to this juncture and also explains my handle, it was our first two bikes. I understand folks desire to keep a Chinese scooter and try to make it work but I'm tapped out in that regard. I gave it my best and I fell short, congrats to those that do make it work.
