The 2T runs but has an electrical issue of some sort with the turn signals . What is it doing ? Not sure just yet . After spending Wed-Friday volunteering and helping set up a Chabad Passover Seder for 50+ people, I still have not had the time or chance to pull the head set apart to look for any kind of an electrical short inside. Early last week I replaced the battery with a new one hoping that would solve the issue . It didn't . Right now I still don't have a gas gauge and my turn signals are screwy. Screwy as in turn signal on , the rear light flashes as does the neutral light on the dash. Unlike a GY6 scoot, the wiring harness for the speedometer and controls on my 2T, comes up through a narrow opening in the steering shaft. I'll be posting more on this thread as time moves along and am also hoping the weather will start cooperating better than it has. Cheers ! willc.

I'll wager a guess this is where the problem lies,,,the px series historically have issues in the electrical systems in the headlight cover steering area

Found my problem !! The ignition switch is toast !! I am getting absolutely no continuality between 2 of the 4 wires after consulting the Stella 2T Service manual 's wiring chart. Mine has the neutral light built in so the 2nd wiring diagram in the service manual is correct. The black- green wires are ok . The orange purple wires are not making contact when the switch is on. That means half dead scoot. The black and green wires that are making contact, are allowing me to start the scoot but I have no power from the orange purple wires that are not making contact. Now I have to decide whether to fork over the $35 from a us seller or buy from over seas and be patient for a week or two . willc.

No luck so far. Still not getting dc voltage to rest of scoot. Earlier tonight I went to Kinko's and printed out a laser color copy of the 2T wiring diagram that I had turned into a separate pdf file. With the multi-meter ( weather permitting ) I'll be starting with the first primary wire that comes directly from the battery to the voltage regulator and start checking the other parts that are directly attached to it. What I will find remains to be seen. There is a short somewhere on the scoot and I've got to find it gehenom or high water ! Yesterday I renewed my car insurance on my geo so I can still drive till the scoot is back fully operational. That's the latest here. willc.

Did check some of the wiring circuits . My main question is why am I having continuity . a grey wire feeds the switch and when selecting hi or low beams ( fed by violet , brown wires) I am getting continuity on all wires ( brown grey , grey violet , violet Brown). Not sure if I am looking at this right . willc.

Kavey,
Pistons are a kind of 'reward' program for us. When people are helped by your post, then they can give you a piston to show that they appreciate your help.
As far as the wiring goes, Have you tested the switch itself? If you give us a link to the wiring diagram for your particular bike, we will be able to give you better information.

Ok here is an update !! It has been an eventful couple of weeks. After several checks I found my voltage regulator was also not working properly. During checks with the multimeter I got 15vDC or higher at the turn signal flash module and was the same in a few other areas especially at the dc out on the regulator . With this info I ordered a new 5 pin regulator off Ebay and told the seller I needed it by the end of the month . Usual shipping time from India is 2 weeks minimum. They sent the regulator via DHL. Once the package got here I discovered a big screw up by the seller. I got sent a 3 pin regulator when it was supposed to be a 5 pin. Needless to say I'm stuck waiting for the seller to send the right 5 pin regulator . My scoot has a battery (and had a electric starter on the previous 150cc engine) and takes the 5 pin to power the ac headlight system , dc turn signal's ,horn etc. The 3 pin regulator doesn't have the dc out I need. As a temporary "Band-Aid" for the turn signals so I can ride the scoot I have wired them in a direct voltage connection to the battery. I have not had any further issues doing this . With it wired to the battery ( with fuse) I have to make sure the signals are off especially when the scoot is not running. The engine is a kick start only . More will come as things progress. The scoot is ride able and with the sunny warm weather I would rather scoot than drive ! That's a rundown on things at this point. The new ignition switch finally came in today and is now on the scoot. Cheers !! will c.

Looks like another week or so till the replacement regulator gets here. They say they sent it on the 20th by mail. Being sent via mail means being stuck waiting 2+ weeks till the d@mn thing finally shows up. More when it gets here. willc.
