Hi all late joining the scooter world . Got my scoot from N J craigslist for 1000.00 and only 492 miles on it. In the middle of doing a full PDI have it stripped down and waiting on parts to come in before I put her back together. Have a couple of questions here. What is a good bulb to use for the head lights. I have the original 12v 25w/25w now been looking at the same bulb on Amazon but 35w/35w any ideas. I have been really pouring through the forums and just wondering if upgrading the fuel pump is worth it. I would also like to add a little volt meter to keep an eye on the charging system . I'll try to post some pics.

Sure you can try the 35W and see if it does not put to much drain on the charging system. But if you do not drive at night I would not bother. Alleyoop

Oh, No. Another one has invaded.
That was my scoot and it was a MAJOR nightmare.
During your PDI, be very sure and put silicone rubber on every single wiring connection. It goes on the back of the connector where the wire goes into it. This is CRITICAL on this particular bike.
Change all your lights to LED and the headlight to HID if you ride at night.
Don't run it WOT or you won't be able to do enough maintenance on it.
Change the brake fluid, coolant and use a good synthetic oil in it. This bike runs better on synth than regular Dino.
If I think of more, I'll let you know.
HAPPY HAUNTING!!!

Guitarman why a major night mare. Checked all connections and they are all clean and tight. Finally got the PDI done . All fluids changed and new silicone vacuum lines and fittings. Kinda up in the air about the fuel pump and the fuel lines. will probable keep the vacuum pump for now. As for the fuel lines they look in good shape not as bad as vacuum lines where. Had a PIA time flushing the coolant. I could not get the system to burb the air out. Ran scoot and let temp get up to 3/4 , top rad hot bottom cool so I know I got a big air bubble in the rad. First took the top hose off filled with coolant. Ran and same symptoms . I'm like here. So I sat back and thought why will the system not burb. I finally took the small hose in the center of the top rad tank off and it was clogged with gunk. Blew that clean and started over again. Scoot heated up burped and fan came on at 1/2 gauge. The coolant that came out was like mud nasty brown reddish color. I flushed the system 4 times with clean water. Now have to put the scoot back together and take for a ride. Mike K in South Jersey .cked all connections and they are all clean and tight .

Yeah, it was sour all right. LOL
The one I owned had a major problem with getting wet and frying the wiring. Overall, I put about $600 into wiring, wiring and finally totally replacing the wiring complete. Then coating each and every connection so it would not be subject to water.
I blew fuses, melted wires,... it was just a total fricken nightmare.
