This is a new scooter (Chinese Horizon 4 stroke gy6) scootet that I origanally purchased for my nephew to have job transportation but he did not want to look for a job. Long story short no job...no scooter. I bought it in September 2014 but it stayed in the garrage until november when I started test driving. I has about 45 miles on it now. There is a problem at times during takeoff. At times it takes off nice and smooth but twice it has surged on me quite strongly. The second time i was in my parking lot and was going too slow to make the curve to my garrage so i gave it a little gas and it jumped away from under me. Each time that this has happened I had just taken it up to first 45mph and then 75mph. I don't know if that helps or not. Can anyone tell me what may be going on? Thanks Nsain.

Pull a couple side panels, and check the carb mounting ,,,intake manifold to head bolts ,,,see if anything is loose with the intake tract,,and vacuum lines to see if there are any cracks,I would also check the throttle operation make sure its working smoothly,,,I would start there

If it sat that long without being started, and had fuel in it, you may need to clean the fuel system. Clean the carb, change the fuel filter, and add treatment to the tank. Modern fuel with corn squeezins will gel up when left sitting for long periods. I personally would drain the tank into a large bowl/pot to visually inspect the fuel.
