When i turn on my taotao it turns right up, but after 5 secs of it running it turns right off, also if im reving it when i first turn it on and a good few times before its warmed up it will shut off slowly, i wont idle, and also when i ride before its warmed up, it gets to speed then slows down to 10mph and then sometimes shuts off or ceeps running. when that happens i sometimes have to play with the throttle to bring it up to speed a little. i changed the oil but havent changed the spark plug,i also think i may have put to much oil in the engine when i first did the oil change if anyone has any ideas let me know also i was looking at ebay and come across a bbk kit with every part i need for$167 is it worth it ?? *** also i must add my highbeam and my brake light just stoped working ( blinkers work) any idea?

sounds like lack of fuel, take the fuel hose off the carb put it in a container and crank the motor over and see if fuel streams out into the container. Also take some pics of the carb and around the carb and hoses to see if anything looks broke or cracked or out of place. Alleyoop

i took off alot of the cover, and nothing looks broken or cracked to me, ill be putting up photos soon. Also earlyer before i read what you wrote, i removed that house, that goes from the vacuum line to the carb and a bunch of gas came out without me cranking it so i quickly put the hose back on. so your saying, crank the motors without gas in it ? will the gas come out the hose or the spot were i took off the hose from the carb??

Sounds like you took the wrong hose off. You probably took the hose at the bottom of the carb. That is the drain hose so gas would come out. Here is a picture of a carb and everything is labled so TAKE THE FUEL HOSE going to the carb off and FUEL SHOULD NOT COME Out maybe a little that is left in the hose but not keep coming out until you crank it. What we are doing is trying to find the fuel delivery problem. 1. Is the fuel not getting to the carb. 2. If fuel is getting to the carb then something is wrong at the carb level or you have a bad air leak.
That is why pictures of the carb area and hoses is important to see if something wrong can be spotted. Alleyoop

The HOSE WITH THE WIRE around it is YOUR CARB BOWL DRAIN hose , on the end of that hose you will find a metal piece and a screw inside it that is the Drain Screw. Well everything looks good, all pretty new looking. Problem I see is your carb has the Fuel Ratio Mixture screw plugged. So here is what I think your problem is, From the factory for EPA rules they set the carbs really LEAN and they then plug up the screw so customers cannot adjust the mixture and it is what I said LACK OF FUEL but due to the motor now broken in little and temp change needs more fuel. The Carb needs to be richened up. SO you have TWO OPTIONS you can drill out the plug to get at the screw behind the plug or buy an after market carb which do not have the mixture screw plugged. Then you will be able to adjust the carbs fuel mixture and richen it up(ALLOW MORE GAS INTO THE MOTOR). scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/1499/4ts-carb-tuningHere is how to Take the PLUG OUT: Alleyoop Here is a New Carb: www.amazon.com/50cc-18mm-Carburetor-49cc-Scooter/dp/B004J5CJVA

Once started did you adjust the fuel mixture to get the highest idle? Also have you adjusted the Valves if not set them both to .03 inchs.
