I picked up a 2012 Gorilla Motor Works 150cc scooter with low miles (270). It is super clean but it wont run. The starter button doesn't work, it is getting fuel but no spark. Is there something that I can check with the starter safety system that would tie into both of these things. I am not even sure what I would do to get the start button to work, I thought pull the rear brake?

Oye...where to begin. Why anyone would buy a scooter that doesn't run without having a rudimentary knowledge of scooter mechanics is beyond me. Nevertheless, maybe one of our esteemed elder members will take the time to pen a "mechanical troubleshooting Check-list" and post it to the tech section of this forum. Oh wait.......someone did..... scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/5294/gy6-troubleshooting-chartGood luck and welcome to scootering.

I replaced the solenoid, with alleyoops help walking me through the different tests to determine that it was bad, from a picture of the cdi pin out he determined that it is a DC system and I have 12 volts going to the cdi , when I check the pickup coil on the top left of the 4 plug of the cdi connector I don't get a reading if I hold the start button down turning the motor over, if I just hit the button quick it makes the meter jump, I put a new DC cdi in as well as an ignition coil, the coil isn't different in a DC system, is it? I still have no spark, I guess I am going to order a stater put that in if it still has no spark I will let someone else fix it, I have more patience with things normally but I want to hear it run soon, It is in New condition, except new bikes start!!!! I'm still hanging in there
