So i've seen both plugs in various gy6's
I'v also seen the non-resistor version of both plugs in gy6's
Whats the difference?
I've seen both types in NGK and other brands.
Which is better? They can't be the same or else they would have the same model #.

Well, using my extensive knowledge (Google, not scooter) I have deduced that there is no difference at all. From what several sites say, they are simply direct replacements for each other. I will try to get one and see if there actually is a difference, but I've even heard of people using car spark plugs in their scoots as well as other ignition parts. I guess a spark is a spark?

They don't have the same number because they are made by different companys, but are interchangable....as are these other brands: Spark plug cross reference

Just bought a few different plugs yesterday and tried them all out on 5 mile runs each and I can attest that these plugs progreengrass.com/spark-plug-cross-reference-chart/ are the exact same with absolutely no change in performance (at least on the short term). Just a couple dollars difference for the brand names, that's it. I needed a few spares anyways...

Those are two totally different plugs....all the letters mean something. They are both resistor plugs, and have the same heat range, but that's all. Maybe this will help: NGK technical information
