I have a 1986 Honda Elite 150 Deluxe. Bought used off of Craigslist in July. I just got it back from the shop (for a tune-up and once over) and two of the issues could not be fixed due to the parts not being available: the muffler and the motor for the pop-up headlight.
The headlight itself works, but the motor which pops it up and down is seized and non-functional.
The muffler has a loose baffle and is horribly loud at speeds over 30mph.
Shop tells me to check eBay for the parts since they don't make parts for this scooter anymore. Is that my only option here? I myself am not mechanically inclined, so there's no way I can fix something like this on my own.
Both issues are not keeping me from driving the scoot, but I'd really like to get the muffler issue fixed.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Yea your in a pickle parts for those are almost none existent. The best you can do is find a muffler that looks like yours and with some mods have it put on. As far as other parts for it your best bet is to find one for sale at a cheap price around 200-300 and use it for parts. I understand the 1985 used that pop up headlight cover as well so if you can find a 1985 or another 86 with the parts you need working grab it. Alleyoop

I have had great success finding obsolete parts on EBay. I just looked and the parts you want are currently on there.

I would hop on over to your bike right this instant and pull a panel or 2,,, to see if it's the correct lift motor,,, or take a leap of faith and grab it while it's still available,,, they only made hide away headlites for two or three years ,,,snag that thing before it's gone

Used parts are a hit and miss deal. Don't pass on that one as the wait for another May be long.

Yeah, I'd grab that one too. Either that or get a high torque hobby motor and make your own. Or even mod it with a cable. Sort of like a lawnmower throttle with the slide. Then you could stop it at any angle. LOL

Got the muffler yesterday. It's a heavy beast! I had to spend some time picking packing peanuts out of it since the seller didn't wrap it up before it put it in the box with the peanuts. LOL
It looks like the muffler might just bolt on (thought it had to be welded on) - does anyone know?

The two honda scooters I had, had bolt on mufflers. It was important as you just about had to remove them every time you did any work on the engine or rear wheel/tire.
