Hello! So I decided to get me a BRAND NEW 50cc scooter that I can ride legally without having to get a motorcycle license here in Texas. Decided to go with a Jonway/Denali 50cc aka Cougar Cycle 50cc. Purchased from motobuys. Your welcome to check it out: www.motobuys.com/denali50-coug.html Also found here under a different name: www.cougarcycle.com/scooters/denali-50-cc/So you can give me some feedback on the specs and any history you may have with the engine. Pointers? Feedback? Advice? You got it, I'll take it! Right now I'm going to be diving into taking delivery and first things to do list: I have heard a lot of people here and there talk about OIL! Don't run that thing with the factory OIL! OK! I believe you! I plan on swapping that out first! Any specific? I guess just a basic SAE30 or 10W-30 is what we generally use here in Southeast Texas. Second, Third, Forth? I haven't a clue. Need a little.... Need a LOT of help in this area. I appreciate anything you can throw my way. I'll continue to update this thread with my delivery and progress. Wish me luck!

Denali scoots are supposed to be better than your run of the mill Chinese scoots. So as your going over it checking things out have the battery on a trickle charge. Check for loose bolts, change the oil put in 10w40 oil in the crankcase, and 80w90 in the tranny, the crankcase takes 750ml(like 3/4 of a quart of oil) and the tranny about 6 oz. On the tranny measure the amount how much drains out. Check the tire pressure set them to 10% less than what the tires max says. By the time your done doing all this the battery will be nice and charged. Alleyoop

How could I forget Alleyoop you're definitely something as a resident expert around these parts. I will follow that schedule to a T! I will be purchasing my fluids tomorrow. I'm glad to hear Denali to be better than other cheap Chinese scoots. Point in the direction of an owners manual and parts list or parts replacement source. That would very helpful!

All the scoots are pretty much sameo sameo and they all work the same way. Just some parts may be a little different but not hard to find. To find parts you need to know the motor it has in it. Most likely 139QMB or 1P39 etc.. Those motors are very common and parts are carried by just every parts seller. What is usually harder to find are the skins for them because just about every year they put out a new model they change the skins to make it look a little different. So the skins if damaged may be a little harder to find. Here is a very good Service Manual that will apply to just about all the 50s and 150s. When going after parts you always go by the motor number and always check the part going after to look for a match. The parts that would most likely be different would be the CDI and Regulator/Rectifier because they come in several configurations all depends what harness they used to wire the scoot and the CDI may have only 4-5 pins as well as the R/R while the most common CDI has 6 pins and the R/R 4-5 pins.
