In another bike i took the crank out of the seals stayed in their place on the case. Can i just leave them in and change the crank or our it mandatory to change them when the crank is pulled?

how old are the seals? i don't think it's mandatory to change them but always a good idea. if the seals are fairly old, i would change them out. just because i wouldn't want to go back in a second time to save a few bucks.

Trashman is correct. Don't save a few dollars and wind up having to do it all over again. When you open a seal or gasket, just replace it. No, you don't have to, but you might as well.

Never a good idea to reuse gaskets and or seals. It is a PITA taking it apart in the first place to replace and or fix something. You do not want to find out after putting it back together that you have a leak by a gasket and or seal and having to tear it apart again to replace it with new gaskets and or seals. Alleyoop

This reminds me of a cartoon on the wall at my dentists office. A kid asks if he has to brush all his teeth. THE ANSWER IS "ONLY THE ONES YOU WANT TO KEEP"! Same type of deal
