I finally got to the point where my original exhaust had reached the end of it's usefulness. I had been reluctant all along to change the exhaust because of the price. To me $199 is a lot of money (especially when the Scooter was only $588 new) too pay for something that doesn't really make that huge of a performance difference. Luckily I came across this set-up at ScrappydogScooters.com www.scrappydogscooters.com/139QMB_50cc_Performance.htmlFor only $129.95 they were quite a bit cheaper than anybody else. First of all I had an excellent experience with scrappydogscooters.com. I ordered this on a Monday and had it at my doorstep in Florida on Wednesday. I had JB Welded my third and final hole on my old one.. The build quality was good on the new exhaust, the welds looked pretty good... There was a little slag left over on the flange that I had to grind off..... But no big deal, I figured I might have to do something like that with such cheap prices. I was really afraid that the brackets would not be in the correct position. But, I was lucky it pretty much bolted right up. The top bracket had some space between it and the case when I got it bolted up.... Nothing a few stainless flat washers couldn't handle. Other than that it was a quick easy bolt-on conversion. It looks great... I haven't really noticed that much of a performance gain over my stock pipe with 2 holes drilled in the end. BUT, It sounds really good!! It has a much more throatier, deeper tone to it now. I have to do a plug check today, too see if I have leaned it out too much. But it runs really good and I don't think the jetting has changed much from my stock opened up exhaust. The good thing about stainless is it should last virtually forever so I won't have to do this again. Not that it was a terrible job, only took about an hour to do, and I had to run to the hardware store twice!!

Man, the appearance factor alone was well worth it, nice clean look. A little better sound makes it that much sweeter. What's your thoughts on having to put on a performance exhaust to get your worth out of jets and a uni? I've read some opinions that until you open up the back end there's no sense trying to put more juice down it. Rich

Rich I have not noticed that much difference from my stock muffler with 2 holes drilled in it. I already had the #90 main jet in it. Although I do seem to have a little more mid-range power than before. I wanted to do a plug check today, but got busy tuning up the cage and ran out of time. I'm gonna pull the plug tomorrow before work too see how it looks.

Nice going and sure makes a big difference in the appearance of your scoot. Noticed that the actual Muffler is not supported with anything like a band clamp or is it connected behind the muffler and we can't see it. The reason I ask is with the weight of the muffler and going over bumps and holes and what not i would be concerned it may break or start coming apart where the header pipe connects to it. Just a thought. Alleyoop

No no extra support in the back. The brackets were made with 1/4 steel and should hold it tight, but I'm gonna keep a close check on it. I did notice that the rear reflector was hitting the muffler with my weight on it, and bending the tag bracket. I removed that reflector for the time being until I can come up with something better.

NICE! I understand your fear. I bought an exhaust system this past winter for my race scooter. The material used was HQ and the welds were perfect - the mount was not! It too was stainless but had SS tubes welded to the support rod that were at odd angles that made me feel like I was taking an intelligence test and failing poorly. A guy at work cut it apart and re-welded it into something workable. It's great that your on target with jetting.
