So about 3 weeks ago my Tomos nitro 150cc was losing a little bit of power, jerking back and forth from time to time when I was on the road. I thought It would pass but It only got worse, over the days the problem happened more and more frequently until one day It wouldn't even move. The scooter would move but bog and just jerk while accelerating. I took the carb out the the following night and cleaned it for about 2 hours because I suspected that was the problem. I Put it all back together, started it and again the problem. The next day I cleaned my petcock, and used the air compressor to blow through it. I put it back in and the problem went away! I was riding the scooter to work with no problems at all. Later coming back to my shop from work at around (8pm) I start up the scooter and the scooter bogs a little.. but It took me home. In the morning it was bogging and stuttering like crazy and I left it at home because I knew it wouldn't carry me past a mile. I went online and ordered a 150cc gy6 Scooter petcock and replaced it days later, but that didn't fix it unfortunately, seemed even worse. I checked the fuel filter and I could see through it, didn't see any junk. So today I take the carb out AGAIN and use a new carb cleaner, cleaned it really good and sprayed the jets thoroughly. That didn't fix it at all. What a complete waste of a day.
I am on this forum requesting help. Has anyone ever had this problem before and fixed it? I tuned the carb and that didn't help. Also whenever I sit on the moped it dies sometimes. Please help.

I won't say that this is your issue but my 2 strokes will do that when the exhaust starts building up deposits. have you tried a new spark plug?

Look on the bright side. You are allowed to have a 2 stroke. I want one but they are banned in California.

The spark was replaced half a year ago I would check it anyway, sparkplugs for scooters can foul in six months. I'd also check the fuel related things; filter, pump, etc. I'm having a similar issue, but mine is more like dying at idle, probably needs the carb adjusted. I'd also check the stator.

I would recommend running some sea foam through it. About an ounce per gallon of gas. Should run rough for a bit then smooth out if it's bogging from engine deposits.

How many miles on the scoot and when was the last Time the VALVES where adjusted? It may just be tight valves and it is loosing compression and when that happens the motor will not want to hold low rpms. If the valves have not been adjusted set them both to .004 inchs. Alleyoop
Here is how to adjust your valves:

Well they need to be adjusted that is why I put up the VIDEO it is not hard to do and only a few tools and a feeler gauge that you can buy at any auto parts store. If you do not want to attempt it then find a shop that will do it or a friend that knows how.

I just checked my fuel cable that connects to the carb, when i started the scooter gas was flowing out pretty good so im suspecting it is a carb problem.
