Sorry been away for a while working and upgraded to a motorcycle so I've been a little preoccupied. I have checked the scooter for compression, spark, fuel, valves and just changed the variator/weights and belt. I uploaded a really good sound quality video to show you the sound of the scooter. the pictures and video

I guess I will adjust the valves again and see what happens LOL I always let the engine cool off and then turn the engine by hand till the intake valve closes and then line up the flywheel mark just behind the f t/ / /

I've heard that you would need to let the engine sit overnight before doing a valve adjustment, that it needs to be dead cold. I could be wrong.

You line up the CAM SPROCKET like this forget about the Timing marks and the fly wheel. When the cam sprocket is lined line up like in this picture you can then ADJUST BOTH VALVES withoug rotating the engine over again. Since it is a 150 set BOTH VALVES TO .004 inchs. Alleyoop

Then make sure you are gapping them to .004 inchs. ROTATE the motor over again and line up the cam sprocket and now try to insert the .005 inch feeler gap in both rockers and it should not slide in then try the .004 inch and it should. Very simple to test your work. Alleyoop

It's still doing the same thing, made sure it was top TDC on the compression stroke with the cam lined up, made sure the 0.005mm feeler gauge would not fit in afterwards and it still sounds like crap but it has great compression.

Ok, I again listened and I heard some metalic sounds in the CVT so next check your variator weights worn and or plastic guides worn.
You can pinpoint the racket by using a screwdriver and touching around with the point and the sound will travel to the handle and you should feel wherever the sound is coming from.
Touch the Valve cover and see if the valves are still rattling. Touch the CVT by the Variator Touch the CVT by the Clutch Touch the MUFFLER it could be something came loose inside that is rattling around.

I was just reading through some of the posts and saw this thread. I've got to say, I'm impressed by the thoroughness, attention to details, clarity, and quality of the videos provided at the link you gave Alleyoop ! They're EXCELLENT! I'm going to watch every one of those GY6 related videos. Thanks for that. And if that is you, instructing through them, I commend and thank you for making them so carefully, with the viewer in mind!
