This was a bit more than 24 hours ago...
It's been a tough day. Cheryl and I were riding to an appointment and a white minivan came outta nowhere and hit my front wheel. We were thrown off the left side which is pretty much impossible as we were turning right and leaned over, if the guy never hit us like he claims.
I have a couple of cracked ribs and Cheryl is going into surgery tomorrow for a broken knee. It may not sound like it, but we were blessed. It could've been so much worse.
Wear your helmet folks. We were only going maybe 5 MPH and if I hadn't been wearing mine, I'd have a serious head injury.
For the non-riders, GET OFF YOUR STUPID PHONES ALREADY!! How do you expect to see a motorcycle when you're busy looking at facebook?!

I fully understand as I have been rear ended on the motorcycle three times by people lost on there cells.

Wow Andy!!!!!! sorry to hear it ,,it really pisses me off the way people drive nowadays,,,the distractions are truely getting out of hand,,,i ride my dr most times now cause it's quicker and i feel safer because i can get out of trouble and stay in the safe zone where there is no one around me,,heal up and get well to you and your girl

Just wait till some important guy like a judge or lawmaker gets a loved one killed...them maybe there will be some restrictions on using them while driving. For the life of me I do not under stand why we need smart phones. My old flip phone still works like new. And fits in a tshirt front pocket unlike most smart phones!

What interests me are those big information screens being put in newer vehicles. They have to take a lot of attention. Dangerous lose of attention.

I'm out of the hospital. It only hurts when I breathe. (Don't make me laugh!)
My wife is still locked into a bed in the trauma center. They are trying to get her up to the point where she can go to re-hab and learn to walk again. That's not going to be much fun.
As far as the guy who hit me goes, my Lawyer told me not to discuss it with anyone yet.

Way to go, got a lawyer! There are times where there is no other way! I had a couple ribs cracked off along with a punctured lung so I do under stand the no humor wanted thing.

It doesn't matter what kinda phone it is, I'm sure back in the day, it was phones, pagers, and two ways. People don't understand driving, expecting the car to do all the work. All those superfluous blindspot alerts, backup cameras, and sonar crap, don't mean crap if the driver is wrapped up in anything that isn't driving.
