It's my scooter's anniversary! I put exactly 6,600 miles on it since I bought it Last November. The more I ride, the more I love it!

Happy anniversary and congrats. They do have a way of growing on you. Took mine out for a thirty mile ride today......first time on it in 13 days, and boy did it feel good. Now that my flu bug is waning, and forecast is good for next 6 days, my plan is to ride it a little each day that the weather permits.
I should add that I bought my first motorized two wheeler 50 years ago....November 1965....and I'm still nutz about 'em'.

Just got back on my KLX. Didn't put but about 50 some miles on it but was riding thru state parks at 15 and 20 mph. About 3 hours worth. Thats the most time in the saddle in a few years. Could not have done that on the majesty, maybe a little over an hour on that thing.
When you get old and every thing hurts you look for shear comfort. I got my first ride in sept of 1958, a riverside "nassau" scooter and motorcycles since till I got the antique riva.

Thanks guys. I was considering buying a motorcycle, but I am sticking with scooters because....
1. Cheaper to fix. My rear tires cost $30. 2. Better storage. 3. More comfortable because I can change my leg position and sitting position. 4. Cheaper insurance.
Lots of motorcyclists think scooters are gay, but they can go screw themselves.

The biggest reason I am back on a bike is comfort. My back has been hurting for 30 years getting worse by the day. The suspension on scooters just plain sucks. The bigger the scooter the worse they are. Think about it,,,,,the rear wheel has an engine attached to it. The more it weighs the harder to get it to rebound up when hitting a bump in the road. The rear wheel on the majesty I have that I am getting rid of has to weigh at least 250-300 lbs, and has about 2 or 3 inches travel in rear, the whole thing weighs 460lbs. The KLX I am riding I have the shocks set on soft and both front and rear has around 9" of travel and the rear wheel weighs maybe 15 lbs. and total weight is around 300. And yes both front and rear shocks are fully adjustable. There is no comparison to what my back bone feels when I ride today and when I rode that majesty. The most I could stand is an hour on the scooter, today 3 hours on the KLX and I quit cause it was getting dark and I was hungry. Thought I put 50 miles on it today but did not take into account the ride to the gas station so it was more like 65.

Yeah, I think I will always stick with 150cc. I like lightweight scooters. Plus. I actually prefer never riding faster than 45mph because it is safer if you have the skills to do so. I used to race road bicycles, so I am used to riding slowly with traffic.
Lower speeds means more reaction time when an accident is about to happen. It always means lower speed at impact if an accident does occur.
As for riding with traffic, if I am holding up traffic and there is no shoulder, I will pull over AFTER a stop sign so that cars will pass me at 5mph. Then I get back on the road after the last car passes me. I use this trick a lot.

I'm actually surprised that many motorcyclist give me the two finger down salute thing, when I ride.
