I don't know if any one here knows this but there is a way to accurately test flash light/aa/aaa batteries with no equipment what so ever. In all dry cell batteries the electrolyte is a liquid paste type of thing. When the battery goes bad it turns to a hard mass. What you do is just drop the battery maybe 6"to 8" on a counter top or other hard surface. if it bounces it is bad. Liquid or paste electrolyte will not bounce.

I have been doing this for about a year and just occurred to share as I just found this rooms clocks time off so I checked and replaced its battery. john
