I saw and article about it in a magazine while waiting in the doctors office two days ago. It does sound interesting. If you do get one please let us know your feelings.

I am hoping genuine and the other American companies who are importing 250 thru maybe up to 650cc bikes get it totally right and sell thousands and thousands of them. When I was a kid a 650cc triumph was a big bike. Today the big makers mostly treat that size as toys with the exception of dirt bikes. (dirt bikes that are overweight don't always come home out of the woods in one piece)
A huge hunk of metal weighing over 600 maybe 800 lbs with a 24" seat height might turn some people on, but for the most part unless you are going in a straight line the handling is pretty much $hit. The lowered cruisers may look neat but are a handful bending them around tight corners. Most people do not realize that a super low center of gravity bike has to lean over at a far greater angle to make a given curve at a given speed compared to a top heavy tall bike. Roads like the dragons tail and mulhollend pretty well prove that with out much thought/
Dirt bikes with street tires (motards) are starting to sell because they fill a nitch for a smaller bike that handles really well.

I wholeheartedly agree,,,,,we in the states consider anything under 750cc a moped ,,,,I got out of the big bike rat race 4 years ago,,,the only reason I'm even looking at another midsized bike is the dr350 dualsport is geared low for the dirt and at freeway speeds the rpm's are too high for comfort and it's too perfect for its purpose,,,and I don't want to change it,,,the g400c is only 49cc larger than the dr,,,but its a road oriented machine,,,much more friendly on the freeway,,,,it's got my vote

I like it. My desire for an air cooled engine and kick starter would be satisfied. Plus $4600 is a better than decent price.

All I care about is if it's big enough for me, and a second rider, and does highway well. Not too much in to sport bikes, and I really don't need big arse cubic litres. A regeard 600 would be okay. After getting my scooter, I feel "stupid speed" is best left for cars.

Got some semi bad news the other day,,,, the release date for the g400c has been pushed back till August/September of this year ,,,according to genuine this is for allowance for final revision and getting smog certs from California,,,,drag,,,I just picked up a Ferguson to/30 tractor I'm starting to restore so maybe it's a good thing

Somebody at Modern Vespa has it under his icon that he put a deposit on G400 so at least the dealers are taking money. Hopefully it's a good sign that it's coming.
