Hello guys, been a lurker for awhile first time poster. I have a 50cc scooter that boogs when the engine is revved a couple of times in a row. Seems to take off better witb partial throttle than full throttle. Once the bike is moving at speed it runs smoothly and there is no change from full throttle or 1/4 of a turn fron full. Does not like to turn on on cold mornings.
Searched for bogging issues but none seemed similar. Any ideas an where to start?

Welcome to the forum good to have you on here. You need more fuel what is happening is to much air when full throttle is given and not enough fuel and it bogs. Also that is most likely the same reason it does not like to start when cold, needs more fuel. So adjust your carbs Fuel Ratio Mixture screw. Alleyoop Here is a procedure on how to correctly adjust your carb: I am assuming you have a 4 stroke but if you have a 2 Stroke I have a procedure for those carbs as well in the AIR AND FUEL CARB section. scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/1499/4ts-carb-tuning

Thanks Ally! Will try that. My wife lost her mind when she could not start the bike to go to work. Had to take off her helmet and get in the car. I only got a 15 second call from her "sell the dam thing" ?? I got to get this thing perfect

HAHAHA, well here is your fuel ratio mixture and IT IS PLUGGED. So you have TWO CHOICES you can drill the plug out or get an after market carb. they are 18mm carbs and they come set REALLY LEAN so it does need more fuel. That scoot has some EMISSIONS on it, that Valve and the open hose looks like it has an PAIR system. If so you will see a CHROME piece of piping in front of the VALVE COVER. Alleyoop PAIR SYSTEM: HERE IS HOW TO DRILL THE PLUG OUT:

Thanks Alley! Going to try that tomorrow. I guess I should change the spark plug, oils and filter. Full tuneup. Reassemble and adjust. Thanks for the help.
What would be the best plug and gap for this engine?
