Don't know if it ever was discussed here or not. When your trip meter quits working, doesn't reset or you just don't have one there is a simple cure. Those cheap combination locks that have 3 or 4 separate dials numbered 0 to 9. Just attach so it doesn't fall away and when getting gas reset the dials to the last 3 digits of the odometer. My riva when I got it the trip meter was in-op but have since repaired it. I just bought a 03 ford ranger and the reset is slugish so I dug out a 50 cent lock that I think came in cracker jacks. I will clean and lube it later but would like to check initial gas mileage . john
