After running about three minutes, cold, then sitting for 20. Looks like its sticking WAY out to me! Thats about how it has looked sitting aside with the carb out too.

OK, do this lay it on its side and with your thumb cover the hole and start the motor and hold your thumb over the hole for at least 3-4 minutes and see if plunger moves out. Also with your thumb over the hole when you started it did it start and idle higher? Alleyoop

The choke did extend yes. I just needed to see the action , to understand But, the idle is very rough at 2 turns out.

Good the enricher is working so put it back on and now adjust your fuel ratio mixture. The 2 turns out was just a start.
Try counter clockwise first 1/4 turns at a time wait between each a few seconds to allow the motor to catch up with the new adjustment. LISTEN for the idle to go up or down you are trying to get the highest idle,
If turning it Counter Clockwise the idle goes down then try CLOCKWISE.

That's what I did because, I have read many times what you have posted about it, to peeps. Do ya ever get tired of having to post what must be so mundane to YOU, to us? LOL! Now, I have searched to HEAR how much change I should be hearing. The changes that I hear are subtle until I am obviously way too in or way too out. I THINK, I've followed instructions but, I was hoping to hear more obvious changes while adjusting. I'll try again to see if I can find a YT vid to confirm for myself. I STILL have the dying problem though. I think the CDI I ordered will be here tomorrow. When does it end ?! lol! HELP, JANE! Get me OFF this crazy thing!!!

About 15 minutes to twenty. I think that by the way it's running now, there is a vacuum leak ?

The motor is idling up and down it could be the timing changing would be bad CDI, or the fuel delivery is not right. Try turning the fuel mixture 1 full turn counter clockwise and see if the idle still goes up and down. Just like you just did. Alleyoop

You gots yourself a vac leak of epic proportions,,,,give the intake manifold a real long look,,,, I think you're going to find a crack,,,it's gotta be

Also give the throttle a quick open twist I want to hear the rpms go up and come down. If it bogs then you have a AIR LEAK.

I needed to turn it back OUT a half turn. But now she's heated and won't start up after running without the up and down. I took the opportunity to check for spark and at least for now, it's there. Maybe after putting in the new CDI tomorrow, the nightmare will be over, sheesh!
