Well if it needs to cool down before it will start again that is a CLASSIC CASE of the valves being tight and the motor is loosing compression. I thought you had adjusted the valves on this thing?

I'm worried that the battery may be running down so, I'll plug her in, do the BOG test tomorrow and load it up. Can't run it too much on the patio but, thats where I need to plug it in.

Okey then it may be the CDI getting hot and pucking out if the valves are ok. Lets hope its the CDI that is causing it to cut out and die. Will check in tomorrow. Alleyoop

Did you completely disassemble the carb at one time? Check the diaphragm for tears and pinholes,,,also check the slide bottom to see if the pressure vent hole is clogged,,,it'll be right next to where the jet needle comes out

cyborg, yes , I just disassembled and thoroughly cleaned the carb. I inspected both diaphrams and got a flashlight under them to confirm they were ok. I shot carb cleaner through every opening pretty thoroughly. If you are thinking about that uneven idle, it was corrected via the A/F screw. The CDI didn't arrive today, according to the tracking # but, can't check the mailbox just yet. I'll be checking for "Bogging down" as soon as I can today.

Great that the bouncing idle was due to the fuel ratio was it LEAN did you richen the mixture? Now test it for bogging and how it take throttle, give the throttle a few quick full twists and let go. The RPMS should rise quickly and come down quickly to the idle you set. So you should get VROOOM VROOM nice and quick and smooth. If it hangs a little coming down it is LEAN. If it comes down to idle and then wants to drop more and die it is just a hair to rich. ALL TRICKs OF THE TRADE
